Turkey’s Aegean Coast is simply full of some of the world’s most beautiful bays and charming villages, of which Turunc is one. Situated less than 8 miles by road from the popular town of Icmeler, and a little farther from the larger resort town of Marmaris, Turunc is a wonderful village that’s only just now beginning to be discovered by tourists from around the world.

 

Being just a village Turunc does not have its own airport, so you won’t have to suffer the sounds of planes flying overhead all day and night! Dalaman International Airport is the closest for flights to Turunc and it’s situated about 120 kilometres (75 miles) by road from the village. Coming by car you’re looking at a fairly lengthy drive – it takes between 90 and 120 minutes to get to Icmeler then it’s another 7 or so miles by road from there. This doesn’t sound like much but the road takes you up into the pine clad mountains and is quite winding.

 

The drive may take a little while, but those views as you start making your way down towards the coast and the village are just amazing, and well worth it!

 

As Turunc is one of the smaller villages along this part of the Aegean Coast you’ll find it tricky getting here by public transport. Your best choice is to rent a car at Dalaman Airport and make the drive yourself; this way you’ll have the car available to you for the duration of your holiday in Turunc. You can book your car hire in advance for the least hassle and a great price, hiring through one of Europe’s major car rental companies.

 

If the drive sounds like too much for you the other option is to get an airport transfer. Airport transfers direct to Turunc may be available at a later date or you can book our transfer to Icmeler then either take a taxi by road to Turunc, or go in style and catch a water taxi!
