Shopping in Turunc |
![]() Shopping in Turunc
You can spend your days on holiday in Turunc enjoying the Blue Flag Beach, sampling tasty Turkish food, or hiking in the mountains, and although there are shops here for your everyday needs you probably wouldn’t holiday in Turunc just for the shopping!
What appeals about Turunc is the relaxing, laid-back atmosphere. The village is not overly full of tourists, so it’s not overly full of shops aimed at tourists! If you’re looking for an excellent range of shopping why not take the dolmus to Icmeler, or better still Marmaris, as there are many different shopping areas to experience there (see below)?
Where to Shop in Turunc
Turunc does have the advantage of offering shops that will cater to your everyday needs. There are several mini-markets in the village which are great if you’re staying in a self catering apartment in Turunc as you can buy an assortment of food and drink items in these. Turunc also has its own pharmacy, doctor, and a post office.
For souvenirs, clothes, jewellery and more Turunc’s main shopping street runs parallel to the beach, just inland. There’s actually a good choice of shops here, or wait for Turunc’s popular Monday Market.
Shopping in Icmeler and Marmaris
Though you can buy most things in Turunc it’s always nice to get out and explore the shopping opportunities in other towns and villages. In Icmeler you’ll find a good selection of shops, or visit on Wednesday for the town’s weekly market.
Marmaris has the greatest choice of shops in the area, and if you visit only one part of Marmaris while on holiday in Turunc, make sure it’s the Bazaar. Shopping here can be lots of fun! Marmaris Market is good fun too, and popular with tourists looking for great bargains. There are many excellent quality fake designer name brands on sale here, such as t-shirts, sunglasses, shoes etc, and the market takes place every Thursday in the Armutalan area of the town. |
