Back in the 1980’s, before Turunc had been truly discovered, the village had just a couple of restaurants that mainly served the locals and passing trade; now it’s a different story! When you holiday in Turunc you’ll find a number of restaurants, serving a variety of cuisines.
Restaurants in Turunc
Turunc is not as well endowed as Icmeler or Marmaris when it comes to restaurants, but then this village is considerably smaller. Considering the limited number of places to stay there are more than enough restaurants in Turunc to try while on holiday here.
Turunc’s original restaurant is Han Restaurant. Established in 1974 it was the first to open in the village and it’s a friendly, family run place. Han Restaurant offers a mix of Turkish, English and International cuisines and has a fabulous view across the bay from its beach-side location.
Dede’s Haven is another long established restaurant in Turunc. It too serves a variety of dishes, but is well known for its ‘pide’ (pronounced pid-eh). Similar to a pizza, these come with a variety of toppings and are usually very tasty!
Set on the main street but still with excellent bay views, Can Restaurant is another popular choice. A holiday in Turunc is not complete without seafood, and Can Restaurant specialises in seafood including calamari, octopus and lobster, as well as numerous other dishes. And if you like the taste of aniseed, the best accompaniment to seafood is the Turkish drink Raki, so make sure you order one of these with your meal!
