Torba Information |
![]() Torba
Imagine a Turkish village that’s set on a beautiful bay filled with turquoise blue waters and surrounded by pine clad mountains, yet less than 4 miles from the bustling streets of Bodrum. It sounds impossible, yet this is what you get on holiday in Torba!
One of the region’s smaller tourist resorts, the village of Torba has retained its relaxed and somewhat rural feel, giving holidaymakers the best of both worlds.
Where is Torba?
Torba is situated on the northern shore of the Bodrum Peninsula, on the opposite side to the town of Bodrum, along Turkey’s beautiful Aegean Coast. By road the distance between this attractive village and the peninsula’s main town is only 4 miles or less, yet the coastline on this side of the peninsula is quite different to the more barren coastal scenery of the southern side and features some wonderful little coves and lush pine clad mountains.
There’s a rural feel for travellers on holiday in Torba, but it’s not in the middle of nowhere – the transfer time from the Milas Bodrum Airport is less than 45 minutes (driving direct), and the distance by road is just 20 miles.
Accommodation in Torba
Torba may be relatively small when compared to Bodrum but this Turkish village still offers over 20 different choices when it comes to hotels, apartments and pensions. This may sound like a lot for a small village, but the accommodation in Torba has been blended into its surroundings really nicely as all the hotels have been built low-rise. This is another reason why Torba holidays are popular!
Torba has also built a reputation as a higher-end resort village and although it does have smaller hotels, a large number of them are 3, 4 and 5 star rated with lots of amenities and facilities. Hotels such as Club Voyage Torba, Isil Club Bodrum, Club Izer Beach, and Casa Dell’Arte are top of the listings in terms of guest reviews, and rightly so when you see just how stunning some of these Torba hotels are. If you’re planning a holiday in Torba on a tighter budget, don’t worry as there are also some more basic, and affordable, hotel options in the village, and these offer their own unique charm and of course a friendly welcome.
What to See and Do on Holiday in Torba
A holiday in Torba is a perfect choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing destination that’s not too noisy, yet within easy reach of all the shopping, nightlife and more that’s available in nearby Bodrum. Torba really is the best of both worlds – you can enjoy your hotel swimming pool or visit the small village beaches and spend a relaxing day sunbathing and swimming. When you have the desire for more simply hop on a dolmus that are readily available to take you into Bodrum, just a short and cheap journey.
While visiting Bodrum there are numerous things to see and do – visit the famous Bodrum Castle and the excellent Museum of Underwater Archaeology, walk around the marina and harbour, do some shopping, visit ancient ruins and more.
Back in Torba you might like to take a boat trip as the marina in Torba is the terminus for ferry services from the Bodrum Peninsula to Didyma. Didyma is an ancient site and a great place to go for a day trip, plus you can also make use of the ferry to visit two other ancient sites, Priene and Miletus.
Shopping, Dining and Nightlife in Torba
While holidays in Torba are perfect for those who want a quieter time the village still has everything you’ll need in terms of shopping, dining and nightlife.
