Nightlife in Bodrum

Tourists on holiday in Bodrum looking for a lively nightlife won’t have to look far as this town has plenty of nightlife on offer. Equally if you’re not a party animal and prefer quieter nights, Bodrum is a great destination for you too; there are plenty of places you can go for a quieter and more sedate evening.

What kind of nightlife is there in Bodrum?
Bodrum nightlife has something for everyone, from the beating rhythms of its discos, to its friendly and lively bars. There are more than enough places for even the biggest party animal to try out, selecting a different place each and every night of your holiday in Bodrum. At night the streets come alive!

You don’t have to go to a disco or club for a fun night out though. There are plenty of bars too where a popular selection of music is always being played and you can get as involved as you wish, or simply sit back, sip a drink, watch the sun go down, and enjoy watching the world go by! Turkish waiters dancing on the bars and the tables is always a spectacle worth seeing, and there are several places in Bodrum that this happens. There are also bars that are very refined where you can enjoy a quiet cocktail if that’s more your thing.

Away from the centre of town the hotels and apartments in Bodrum also often have some kind of nightlife or entertainment for their guests. You’re more likely to get to experience a traditional Turkish evening here, with dancing (usually including belly dancing!), and traditional Turkish music.

Where to go for bars and clubs in Bodrum
Bodrum’s nightlife is mainly confined to two streets that stretch for about a mile along the waterfront, making this the place to come for a lively night on the town. Starting from just behind the castle and heading east (the street alongside the beach) is Dr Alim Bey Caddesi and it’s lined with many bars, but offers something for many different tastes. This street, along with Cumhuriyet Caddesi, together are nicknamed Bar Street!

Veli Bar is one of the first on Dr Alim Bey, and it’s also the oldest bar in Bodrum. Along from here is one of Bodrum’s top nightclubs, M&M, which is rivalled only by the most famous disco in Bodrum, called Halikarnas. Halikarnas is right at the end of Bar Street so it’s a fairly long walk of about a mile from the heart of Bodrum. This, and the quite hefty cover charge, doesn’t seem to put many tourists off visiting this popular and fun nightclub though!
