Prestij Apartments

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on these apartments as to where they are and what they are like? Its just a guy in my work is going on his own and will be his first time to Icmeler and wondered if they would be okay for him,

Hi there

Friends stayed there in September/October last year and they were basic but clean. The only thing they said was the stairs in the apartment were quite steep but said it was fine.

They are up the back of the resort but within easy walking distance to the centre of Icmeler.

I can't think of anything else but if you need any more info let me know and I'll ask them.

The apartments are in the old village, next to the Liverpool Chippy and Deja Vu.

Only mentioning it cos someone's mentioned they are at the back of the village, it's not that far though - just past the school and more or less opposite the Pinewood which I think are shown on the maps on the home page

am sure you've already told your mate that he'll have a great time, no matter what the location ha ha

Thanks for that Fanny. We have been going to Icmeler for lost count, but could not think where these apartments were. It was just he had been told they were 200metres from the beach and 250 from the resort centre. Obviously I would say they are a bit further. How long would you say for him to walk to the beach?

hi carol. it would take around 10 to 15 minutes to get to the beach depends how fit you are . we always stay at the pinewood which is just around the corner from prestij ,they were called onat apartments , we've always walked to the beach, the walk itself is flat [ no hills ] but quite a few bars to pass.

I'm useless on distances, but Steve's right on how long it takes to walk to the beach I think - to be honest, I've never even given it a thought.......it certainly seems quicker to get there than it does to get back though
Like Steve, we've always stayed up that end of the village so I don't suppose the distance is a problem - and also, the market is very near so it's handy for that

If your mate fancies doing boat trips though, it's quite a walk to the new jetty but most of the trips have a bus service and last year it was a couple of Lira to drop us back off at our apartments - and some trips offer a bus service down to the jetty from your aparts or a free breakfast at an appointed restaurant

My friend and I stayed there last year. We are staying there again for a week in April. I would definitely recommend it if you're not looking for anything too special. It's cheap and cheerful. Clean and basic. Air con is payable locally. The only downfall is that the stairs in the apartments are very steep, it takes some skill when you're a little tipsy!!

The pool is nicely secluded from prying eyes and there is a lovely English girl named Claire who has been working there for a few years now. Her fiance is good friends with the manager, if I recall.

We had no problems at night time or anything like that, even walking alone. It would take us an hour or so to get to the beach since we stopped off at bars for regular rehydration en route

Your friend is safe and sound there and will have no problems finding his way around.

Oh, also advise him that the little supermarket opposite Deja Vu is fantastic. He always gave us a good rate of exchange, even when it dropped he kept it at the same rate it was when we arrived.

we stayed at these apartments in sept.08 and would describe them as being basic but clean. they have a decent pool and the snacks available are fine. the cooked breakfasts are also good but we did decide on an evening meal one night just to be polite (after being asked, not hassled, most days) only to find hardly anything on the menu was available so we didn't bother.

it is worth mentioning that the stairs in the apartment are really steep and wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, young or old.

reception open 24hours and claire who works on it during the day till early evening is very pleasant and helpful.

I wouldn't describe it as being in the old village as it's only a 5 minute stroll down to the main street where tansas is.

as jools said the supermarket across the road, jack and victorias, offers good exchange rates and we changed our money there every day.

sorry, just read jools post again and I'm talking about a different supermarket. jack and victorias is across the road from the pool at the prestij and when we were there he was offering better exchange rates than the one opposite deja vu.

We never ate there, but there was a young lad named Mustafa who was learning English who used to bring drinks or snacks to you at the pool. The drinks were about the same as they are around the resort. A big bottle of water was 2ytl and they would keep it cold for you and refill as you needed. Very kind!

sure your friend will enjoy the aparts and we also had some good times in deja-vu bar next door.

This could get me some glares, but I found Deja Vu to be awful.

The men in there would yell at us everytime we walked past and make suggestive comments.
Our friends were in there one night and so we joined them for a quick drink, when one of the bar staff decided it was ok to be completely inappropriate, to which I responded that I wasn't interested. They then barred us!!!! It was so bizarre!
The manager saw us walking past a few days later, as our friends had mentioned that it was outrageous and he apologised. It was too late for me, as the bar staff had been rude to us as we walked by ever since.

Fortunately, we just didn't give a s*** what they thought. Sometimes people just can't take no for an answer. It's a shame really, as it looked like a cool place.

I'm not a fan pf De Ja Vue either, they can be very rude. We had been in a couple of times for breakfast. Then one day we were walking past and one of the staff maybe the manager started ranting at us how we walk past every day and never go in. We told him we had been in a couple of times but he wasnt haveing it and in so many words called us liars. One night after that we decided to let by gones be by gones, and on our way back to our apartments one night call in for a drink. There was no alcahol in the drinks at all and he wasnt very happy when we told him he reluctantly went and put alcahol in our cokes. So I am going back to Icmeler in june and once again staying at the Kurt Apartments but wont be paying De Ja Vue a visit.
