This topic of smoking has already been covered in previous forum. Peli's answer below, for me is the best solution after all who wants a nanny state?

Dont want to get invoved in a smoke/no smoke war!!
But out of curiosity I wonder what would happen if a resturant went totaly non smoking and "advertised the fact big style",
I wonder what their custom would be??
I have a feeling it would be packed to the rafters
Problem then solved, smokers have places to go.
Non-smokers have theirs, everybody happy
Thats if someone has the nerve to do it!!

The haggling for me is one of the highlights of Turkey.

It's great to wind them up offering silly prices, and getting a bit of banter going, before usually getting to a price where you are both happy.

I will not miss the 2/3/4 televisions that most bars have all on the football chanels .come on guys your on holiday give it a break!!!!

Just to highlight a point the only country in Europe with a total smoking ban is the U.K.all other countries have a partial ban or have just kicked it out all together as they saw what it was doing to there business's thats why I find it a joke when people can't understand why bars and restaurants are closing here in the U.K.

I agree here. the majority of tourists are female. What female wants to watch football all night???? So whos the football for ???? The male population who just happen to be the workers!

Couldn't agree more with you geovil. It's ruined the small pub trade livede. People have lived with pubs where smokers and non smokers mix for years. Now that it has been banned people make out like it's the worst thing in the world.

It is one of the worst! - who wants to stink like an old ashtray and breathe in all that filthy smoke? Not me! - those who want to smoke should stay outside and give those who dont, the option not to. Off my soapbox now

The worst place I found for the strobe lights were Richards Place, they seemed to be on constantly for each song, Phill was hiding his eyes and felt really uncomfortable. We eventually left as it was even so annoying when we were just talking to each other.

ok so non smokers want to breath clean fresh air ? thats easily cured ... stay outside where there is clean fresh air

Maybe they should have non-smoking pubs and smoking pubs.
I wonder which would be fuller???

i went with my mum and dad this year they dont smoke we do but we just nipped outside to get a cig
as for smoking and non smoking resturants I dont think its a good idea I feel anyones cash would be welcome but smoking tables and non smoking tables would be nice



as for going outside for a cig my building is in a red light area we used to have a smoke room nice and safe indoors, now i have to go out at night alone and get harrased with seeing all sorts, plus homeless guys that rake the ashtrays

My understanding is that the smoking ban only applies to enclosed places .similar to here, no smoking unless 50% open. As most of the restaurants are more than 50% open in Icmeler the smoking ban won't apply.

If anyone has other information please correct me, this was what I was told by a bar manager in July.
