Hi Frank,
My wife and I visited Pamukkale last September and it is a fascinating place because there can't be anywhere like it on the planet as you can see from the photos on ICR excursions. We did the 2 day tour which took in the ancient site of Ephesus which is the largest Roman archaeological site outside of Rome itself. The round trip is about 600 km so visiting both sites reduces the travelling somewhat should you fancy seeing Ephesus sometime.
The coach stopped at a restaurant on the way to Ephesus for a good breakfast (inc in price) and after visiting Ephesus we traveled to Pamukkale where we stayed at typical Turkish hotel, basic but very clean (inc in price). The evening meal and breakfast were buffet style with lots of choice and good quality (inc in price).
I honestly believe that there can't be a better 2 day trip anywhere if you like to feel a bit of history and want to see such amazing scenery.

I agree with Raynard,

The two day trip is a fantastic experience, we also saw the house of the virgin Mary, we all drank the spring water but fortnately the wife did not get pregnant as mentioned by the tour guide, teh best experience was swimming in Cleopatr's pool in Pamukkale but this does cost extra but is so worth it.

Highly recommended trip and I may do it again in a few years. One word of warning take water into Ephesus with you, there is no where to buy any once in side and very little shade, you will need at least a 1 to 2 litres per person.
