We are at Chateau de ville from 22nd Sept. and agree with JT with regards to "letting your wallet do the talking" Regardless of where we are in the world or whichever accomodation we are in if we feel we are being taken advantage of or the hotel management are trying to "pull a fast one" then we wont spend any money in the place, simples! We go on holiday to relax and not get stressed about room availability etc. The only exception to this is if the room is dirty or similar, obviously you have to complain at that point which at the Chateau is not the case. Even if it was I would go to ICR office and also let them know. I do believe though that a sea view charge should be available at the time of booking then there would not be a problem and people can enjoy there holiday.

The Chateau is in the Airtours brochure fo 2012, and no mention of sea view rooms in supplements, so looks like manager is looking to make some pocket money. Rog

After reading Erikthevikings review about this hotel i am seriously worried about our trip in 10 days time. I've already had a nightmare year with being made redundant and then H4U going bust and now i read this and it's put a real damper on things. I just want a nice clean hotel with friendly staff and a decent pool but it sounds like it should be on Holidays from Hell on ITV! I really wish i hadn't booked it now. Has anyone else been over last month and got a better review? Also could i just ask does the hotel still supply towels for pool and beach to save me packing more. Many thanks for any help you could give me :(

Whats a 'better review'? ok its 5 star luxury and its the best hotel in the world...is that better?!

Dont get me wrong, i enjoyed the hotel but it does need modernising, you have to make an effort with the guys as they appear unfriendly, but can be a laugh. The rooms are small and the safety deposit box is just big enough to get your passports and a small camera in. The bathe is quite a step in but it is fairly clean, the maids come every day and you do regularly get towels. You will enjoy your stay there but if your like us you wont like their bit of the beach.

You dont want good reviews...you want truthful reviews.... :?

It WAS refurbished when the new owners came in and was really very nicely done and decorated with no marks on bathrooms or silicon falling off.

It was a beautiful place when first done but if you don't keep on top of things then things will soon deteriorate

Either way, what it looks like here is a pot luck lottery based on what room you are allocated.
As is the case with most middle of the range hotels, this is probably why there are wildly conflicting reports appearing.

Hi there peevo I agree with you how these hotels abroad come very close to trade descriptions act and in many cases totally over step the mark. I've just had such a terrible year that this holiday is all that's kept me sane and possibly still on this earth to be honest, and then you read someones review and you are bound to get disappointed. As i'd said previously as long as my room is clean and i have hot water, comfy bed and a balcony i'm pretty happy. Thanks for your input tho x

Hi there JT if ICR customers continue to be less than happy with this hotel will you stop using it as one of your properties in the future? I very rarely stay at the same hotel more than once anyway so after next weeks holiday i doubt i'll go back again, my mum has just booked the Senem for June and i think i'll follow suit for next September. Thanks for all your help with my booking, it IS very much appreciated xx :D

Billyjoe have no fears i think you will enjoy the chateau I stayed there in May with at least two other forum members who we met and became friends with fee fee and duffaire and i read some of these negative reviews and wonder what hotel they stayed in erik says the room are small now i know he is a big lad i have seen his picture but room 206 at the front is one of the largest rooms i have had in a hotel (not Apartments)in icmeler ask redrhino gene and ann came up for a look, the staff if you take the time to talk to them are friendly and attentive there is a great full size pool room (free) Even the great JT has been known to frequent it. i cannot comment on beach as we are not beach people, the breakfast for turkey standards is good the pools are cleaned and the sunbeds and pool furniture is adequate views are breathtaking all in all a good hotel. The only minus is that the baths should be taken out it can be awkward climbing in for a shower and the noise from the munamar across the road it is horrendus sometimes and that would be the only reason i would have for changing hotels I hope this puts your mind at rest feel free to send me an e mail if you require any more info and i am sure fee fee and duffaire will back me up on this

I have now changed the description online as that is what the hotel gave us at the start of our contract

I hadn't looked at the wording for a while but now realise it was not up to date

Re: Chateau De Ville

Hi Peevo i am also out there next week and as i said before i need this holiday more than i've ever needed one and your honesty is appreciated if not upsetting a little but i suppose as Rab said not everyone has the same views and i'll have to accept that and just take as i find. I am not a push over by no means so if i recieve bad service or feel i'm being ripped off then they'll know about it. Well if i dont get hot water i can always go to my m8's hotel for one so that's not a problem.
Rab i very much appreciate your post and has cheered me up a little knowing your views on the CDV. Can i just ask if you still get the towels for pool/beach? Just saves weight in my case if i don't need them. Any info you can give me would be great. My son who is travelling with me has never been a beach fan so i'm not bothered about the hotels free beach but i go down to see Ibrahim anyway and get great service and lovely young beach boys at my beck and call!!!!!!
At the end of the day i have lost my job and then H4U went bust taking my money with them and i cannot afford to move to another hotel so whatever happens i am stuck here so i'll make the best of it.
Plenty of trips and spending my days at another hotels pool will do me fine. :D

Yes you get 2 blue beach towels and they are changed every 3 days, although we left 5 lira on the bed and had 6 towels at one point....2 of which are here at home for bathing the dogs!!

Im on and back to back up Rab Elaine, Margo & George, I loved this hotel, you can check out trip advisor, Yes there is room for improvement, but for 3 stars and a few improvements you will get 4 stars

breakfast good for turkey, nice tea real liptons tea bags coffee not bad small jar off your own stuff, safe fairly priced same with aircon , hot water always from shower but not hand sink, pool table free and in very good nick some hotels charge for this, Mudamars noise well you get use it stops at midnite, it we where across from the bus stop and didnt here anything had a great nights sleep with good black out curtains and the fab mozzie mesh, yes there is mold, I have this at home and its a bugger to keep clean, oh and the bath its steep , really should supply a crane hire company to get in and out, but once again the first times the worst after that its plain sailing ,
I have stayed at the miray , devamli, juniper, and this won hands down
