Magicool plus prickly heat. A lot of people swear by this, and I've heard from people who suffer from it that it DOES work.

The Magicool prickly heat spray is good - make sure you get the orange can and not the blue one though. The orange one is the prickly heat one.

Try a tube of 'Fenastil' (I think thats the correct spelling) purchase from the pharmacy in the square. Results become evident quite quickly.

It's also worth checking if it is indeed prickly heat you get, or something called polymorphic light eruption (PLE). Looks similar, but is treated differently. Google it for more information. My mother thought she had prickly heat for years, but it turned out to be PLE.

Hi,
I also suffer from prickly heat and this year even with antihistamin tablets I had to go to the pharmacy I purchased Silex Jel and by the next day it was gone. There is also one called Nerisona C Krem which you can also purchase at the pharmacy.

Googled that blondie and looking at the symptons for both would you believe I think I have both!
Only areas not affected are the soles of my feet and where my shorts cover, calamine lotion and raki is the cure I think! LOL

Hiya

Long time sufferer here, but no longer! Last year I did tons of internet research into causes and effects as I was venturing over to Icmeler in July and was dreading the rash and itching. Short and long of it - antihistamines often make it worse. High factor sun creams often make it worse. I used to slap on factor 30 and take cetrizine daily. I don't do either of these now. I changed to an allergy reliever, which is a weird infra red thing you stick up your nose for 3 minutes 3 times a day - calms down inflamation and reduces the histamine response in your body - you can buy them from a particular chain of chemists in the UK for about £15 (not sure if I'm able to name, begins with an L :D ). I now use factor 20 or less too.

I did July and September last year with no prickly heat, after suffering awfully for years. Also did a hot week at the end of May this year, and will be back there in 11 days. I know it goes totally against most of the advice given, but it totally worked for me so wanted to share :D

I used to use Fenistil and took it to my doctor to try and get something similar as it was brilliant. He checked the ingredients and said the cream should have been used as a one-off and wouldn't be approved in the UK as the more it was used, the more you would need it, as the skin becomes more sensitive. He was right as I now need to have medication all the year round. Just a warning if you use Fenistil only use it for a short period.

Both myself and my daughter have suffered from really bad prickly heat for years and we have tried all of the things mentioned above, and none of them have worked.

Last year after deciding that we could stand it no longer, and after hours of research, I bought some Ultrasun sun cream (high 30 spf super sensitive family formula). You can't buy it in the shops but can order it through Amazon or from ifsogo.com. On a recent trip to Paris, I noticed that they have also started selling it in the duty free at Birmingham Airport. It is quite expensive (around £17 for a 150ml bottle) but it is a miracle cream. You only have to apply once a day about 30 minutes before going out in the sun and having both used it for the first time last year, neither of us had a single patch of prickly heat and we are both usually covered from the tops of our ears down to our feet! It is not cheap but I would not use any other sun cream now. Try it and you might just find your miracle cure and enjoy prickly heat free holiday!!
