I love Ayran - so much so I looked up how to make it!
All you need is a good quality Greek natural yoghurt, water and salt (I have seen recipes which say to add mint but I never have).
Mix the yoghurt and the water in equal quantities, add a fair sprinking of salt stir well and allow to settle of a couple of hours annd hey presto - Ayran.
My friend makes it as well now and her Turkish husband reckons hers is as good as any he has tasted!
