Things that nightmares are made of

Postby redrhino12 » 05 Jul 2010 13:47

Ann and I still wake up in cold sweats after dreaming of the epic climb with all our friends.
Im not sure if its the sight of the flag that instills fear into me or is it our Ann?

You all did brilliantly to reach that flag!

(Although I still reckon Elaine and I had the hardest job sitting in Tommy's bar watching you all struggle up that slope, because we had to put up with John and all his moaning... )

This will tell you a bit more, kentlisa:

viewtopic.php?f=30&t=10592

My husband was part of that group and it took the first ones about an hour to reach the top, and about the same coming back down. It's not an easy walk - far from it - and parts of it are very steep and rocky. He says that he would recommend anyone planning to do it to wear sensible shoes and long trousers - there are a lot of prickly gorse-type bushes along the way. No matter what time of day you were setting off, you'd also need to take a decent amount of water to drink on the way.

there's also a kind of path/track up to the flag which is quite a bit easier.

Think some of the group pictured might take issue with your concept of "easier". mr magoo - it's all relative, I suppose! Path or no path, it's certainly no easy stroll - and people need to be aware of that. :)

ah blondie.....I didn't say it was easy, just easier to go up the path/track route. it's obvious, climb through scratchy bushes and dirt or go up the path. seemplzzzz :)
