Bodrum Boat Trip
Bodrum – Popular Excursions

Bodrum’s popularity has meant this once small fishing village has become one of the Aegean Coast’s top tourist destinations. A holiday in Bodrum combines a lively atmosphere with beaches, shopping, great restaurants, and a varied choice of historical attractions, all within the limits of the town, and that’s not to mention the many other wonderful places you can also visit while on holiday in Bodrum.

Bodrum Boat Trips
No holiday in Bodrum is complete without enjoying at least one boat trip! Bodrum has become famous as one of the popular Blue Cruise starting and/or stopping points along Turkey’s Aegean Coast. You could opt for a full blown cruise yourself, taking several days and nights, on one of the beautiful traditional wooden gulets or if you don’t have that long to spare why not enjoy one of the many day boat trips that are available from the harbour in Bodrum?

As you walk along the harbourside you’ll see numerous boat tours being offered. Some will be similar in the route they take, though others can be quite different, so make sure you check on the destinations that each one covers. Usually lunch is included in the price, and the cost per person for the whole Bodrum boat trip is very reasonable. Make sure you take along some extra money for buying drinks, as well as your swimming gear, towel and sun cream as most boat trips offer swimming opportunities.

In addition to the more local boat trips that are available from Bodrum, you can use the ferries or hydrofoils to take you on a more lengthy excursion. Trips to the Greek islands of Kos and Rhodes are popular, or take the ferry over to the scenic Datca Peninsula.

Ancient History
If the historical attractions in Bodrum have given you a thirst for more ancient history, you’ll find that the Aegean Coast region is simply full of history. The number of ancient ruins you would come across on a tour of this region is quite unbelievable, but if you’re looking for specifics and aren’t on holiday in Bodrum for months, here are some to head for…

Ephesus is of course very famous, and rightly so, as this ancient city is quite spectacular. It’s a bit of a trek from Bodrum, at a distance of around 100 miles, but easily doable for a day trip.

Closer to your Bodrum hotel is the ancient site of Myndos, located where the modern day village of Gumusluk is. Myndos is by no means as impressive as Ephesus, with scattered ruins, but you can wander freely around them.
