Whether you holiday in Didim or Altinkum you should never be short of places to shop! Both towns have a very good selection of shops to choose from, and of course being so close to eachother you can always visit the other when you want to look around some different shops.

 

The centre of Didim has a good variety of shops, some aimed at visiting tourists and others of a more practical kind for the people who live here. Of the two places Altinkum probably has a better choice of shops that are aimed at tourists and there are a number of places to head for if you crave shopping for souvenirs, gifts and clothes.

 

Along the waterfront in Altinkum are many shops where you can buy souvenirs, designer name clothing (but fakes), gifts and more, while there’s also shops within the main centre, called Dolphin Square. A little further out the Didyma Shopping Mall is a very popular place to shop while on holiday in Altinkum. It’s a nice and modern mall with a variety of shops but aimed squarely at tourists judging by what’s being sold here! Here, as is the case in most resort towns along the Aegean Coast, you can pick up some well made clothing at cheap prices, cameras, and leather goods, and you should also look out for other popular items including quality but affordable jewellery, carpets, handicrafts, ‘evil eyes’, and more.

 

If you’re here on a self catering holiday in Didim or Altinkum you’ll find that both towns are well stocked with supermarkets too. There are several fairly large supermarkets which are great for stocking up the fridge in your self catering apartment, and these are found on the main street that runs between the town towns, Ataturk Boulevard.

 

In addition to some great shops you can also enjoy the markets while on holiday in Altinkum and Didim. On Wednesdays there’s a market in Altinkum, while Saturday is market day in Didim. Whichever one you go to you should expect to find a large variety of goods on sale, from fruit to more of the cheap brand name clothing mentioned above.

 

As if all the shops weren’t enough for you in these two towns there are a number of places within driving distance that you could try as well. In the town of Soke for example there’s a very popular complex that features factory outlet shops selling designer names like Levis, Adidas, Nike and Benetton.
