Both Didim and Altinkum started life as small towns that have gradually attracted more and more visitors every year because of the many attractions they offer. The friendly atmosphere, sandy beaches, safe swimming and opportunities for plenty of water sports make a holiday in Didim and Altinkum a favourite choice with many, whether young or old.

 

While still fairly small compared to some of the bigger and better known resorts on Turkey’s Aegean Coast, Didim and Altinkum are growing fairly quickly. They may never reach the size of Kusadasi, Marmaris or Bodrum, but the smaller town feel of these two tourist resorts will certainly appeal to those of you who don’t want to feel overcrowded.

There’s still a very good selection of places to stay in both Didim and Altinkum, with hotel, apartment and pension totals reaching around 70. Competition is always strongest for the beachside locations so if you want to be right on the beach it’s best to book your hotel in Altinkum sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. If you can’t find a hotel that you like directly on the beach there are plenty more just a couple of minutes walk inland to choose from too.

 

By night Altinkum especially is quite vibrant with bars and discos pumping out loud music. If you’re not on holiday in Didim and Altinkum to enjoy the nightlife you’d be best choosing a hotel or apartment that’s not right in the centre of Altinkum otherwise your nights may be disturbed.

 

With around 70 places to choose from you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to a holiday in Altinkum or Didim. Narrow your search down depending on location and then narrow it further by deciding what amenities you want to have the use of. The lower class levels of hotels, and pensions often don’t have much in the way of facilities, maybe a pool and perhaps a restaurant, while the 3, 4 and 5 star hotels will provide more, and of course cost more.

 

Both Didim and Altinkum have their share of basic to luxurious hotels and apartments, including 5 star resorts like the Didim Beach Resort and Spa, or the Garden of Sun Hotel.
