Our daughter Lynsey stayed here last July with her friends. Hotel very clean but very basic. Staff couldn't do enough for them but there was only Tommy and his wife and someone else sorry can't remember their name. They even had there very own bbq night. They were the only English staying here a lot of turkish families seemed to use it as did some of the workers who worked around Icmeler. Although there didn't seem to be that many people staying there. Lynsey was there with 5 friends and they had the pool to themselves everyday no need to get up early to put your towel out. We spent a couple of days with them at the pool. There is a small bar and they do very simple food but as I said very clean. They didn't pay very much for there 2 week stay so they were more than happy with it. If I can answer any questions please feel free to ask.

Lynda

PS location is excellent

Hi all we have just got back from 1 week at the Varol and must say we were absolutly gutted. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the staff were great. We have been coming to Icmeler for many years and due to the collapse of Gold trail we had to look for another holiday at short notice but this is by far this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Now we know its coming to the end of the season and the hotel has seen a lot of traffic through since April but it was absoulutly filthy. There was the same cigarette ash and ringpulls on the stairs for the full week and our room was thick with dust the whole time. The door handles to the bathroom and the balcony fell off everytime you touched them, the shower had mould on the curtians and the shower head sent water everywhere but on you, and you had to have your shower before 6pm or there was no hot water anyway. breakfast was a joke aswell, this is the first time we have ever had our breakfast brought to the table, everywhere else has always been buffet style, the plate consisted of 5 HALF slices of tomato 5 peices of cucumber about the size of 10p peices a peice of cheese the size of your finger and 6 olives and a boiled egg, bread and jam, you got 1 cup of tea if you wanted another you had to pay for it, utterly disgraceful in our eyes. The swimming pool although a good size was in total shade by 1.30pm. Now even though this was last minute booking it was no cheaper than the holiday we lost and had booked 10 months ago.We never expect champagne holidays for beer prices but this took the buscuit.
This is the first time we have ever given a bad report about hotel and we are sorry about this but you must speak as you find this is definatly a hotel we will aviod at all costs

sorry about your bad experience with this hotel
when me and my boyfriend were looking for an apartment at the start of the season he went to look in a room at the varol hotel for us for 3 months
but he said to me that i wouldnt of liked it and it was really dirty and even with a professional clean it still wouldnt be good
so we didnt take it
hope you had a good holiday apart from the hotel

whenever we passed it did seem as if it was the workers that stayed there, or girls/women with their turkish boyfriends. shame it is getting bad reports as it is in a good location and looked okay from outside.

hi Katie, thanks for your comment. We did have a good holiday as always. It's great to see friends again both English and Turkish. One place that suprised me with it's prices was the Coco Beach Resturant. We had been there many times before and always found it a loverly place to eat, nice staff good food and great location, but this year it seemed like organised chaos. The staff were running here there and everywhere but nothing seemed to be being acheived. Last year we had a loverly casserole meal but could not remember the name of it so asked about it when the waiter came to take our order, we explained it was the casserole in the wok like dish with the flame underneath, he said it was the Sultan Kebab. After waiting about 40 mins, we dont mind waiting as you know the food is going to be cooked fresh, along comes our meal, it was a wooden tray with what looked like a mixed grill on it. Now I know we should have compained that it wasn't what we had ordered but as we had never tried this dish before we thought what the hell. Yes the food was nice, with lamb chop, steak, chicken and turkish meatball, but the shock came with the bill, the meal alone was 70ytl, not bad for 2 persons you may say but if we had ordered 2 mixed grills it would have been 46ytl for us both and the amount of food would have been the same, as it was not on the menu but on a board on the wall we did not realise until to late. Anyway, lesson learnt..
