i am getting a bit confuseed on the thread lol am you still allowed to buy alcohol in birmingham airport to take to
icmeler because i have heard that you cant take alcohol through
dalaman airport any more

The liquid restriction is when you are going home, after you have checked in, you cant take any liquid through to departures, but you will be okay to take duty free into Turkey with you.

There is a liquid restriction of 2lt to take in to Turkey by law. Airports are not very strict with it however one passport can only purchase 2 lt of liquid (or 3 bottles of wine) at the duty free located at the airport's arrival terminal by the baggage belts.
You will not be allowed to purchase more than the restricted amount on 1 passport BUT this does not mean you can not purchase few bottles in your airport of origin and then buy couple more at Turkish airport.

I always take loads with me. last year i bought 4 litre bottles of jack daniels silver in uk airport then 4 70cl bottles of raki when i landed in
dalaman haha. didn't even realise there was a customs bit but i've never been stopped in my life

most of the time there isnt even anyone at it
but you never know when they will pounce
and the law is taken seriously over there so i wouldnt like to be put in a turkish prison

I will most definitley be taking a lot of alcohol over this year but never even thought of buying more at the other side, which I will do this year, seeing as I'm going in October for my 21st!
Dannii let me know if your or Sammi are wanting anything brought over as well!

Thinking of taking a few smirnoffs this time for the apartment because you know that turkish vodka is lethal. dunno how long it will last though haha so will let u know, thanks mate
