TV in Turkey

Postby KevDaLad » 09 May 2010 16:20

Hi All
Question for the techy people,
Just wondering if it's worth taking my 7" flat tv with me when I come to Icmeler in Sept. When we booked we did'nt realise that the hotel doesnt have a TV in the room.
Although its not important, but i do like a bit of wind down time with the box before sleep, will it work /recieve Turkish stations when I am there. It has both analogue and digital set up.
Any help appreciated :D

Turkish TV is truly awful. Dont bother. You would do better to bring a portable DVD instead.

Your TV will need to be PAL B compatible, UK is PAL. What do you plan to use for an Ariel, I doubt the room will have one if the hotel doesn't provide a TV already.

Hi Dave
The TV has its own telescopic (not brilliant I know) but just thought it may work. I like the suggestion by dinky about the portable DVD as an alternative.

Thanks

Kev
Like you we like to wind down in front of the box. Last year we took a portable DVD player with us and it was great. You can also buy lots of DVDs in the resort.

most of the turkish actors and actresses arent very good
and a lot of their programmes are in turkish but the people in the them are not speaking turkish when you watch their lips moving
which isnt very good as it sometimes sounds really fake

We always take a laptop as it's much more versatile. Many places have internet access which is very handy. We can also play music or dvd's and while I'm getting ready for our evening out (which can take a while) OH is kept entertained putting photo's on the computer and editing them.
