Flights cancelled

Postby chezbabe » 08 May 2010 10:46

Just to let you know that our flights with Onur Air have been cancelled and rescheduled. No Thursday flights from EMA, now rescheduled to Tuesday. This means holidays cut by 2.5 days due to flight times. Tried to reschedule with another airline, but wanted £400 extra to what we paid in August. I really think it's bad that the airlines can change flight days, especially when we booked the seats in August 2009. We had already had two time changes before the cancellation. :(

Sorry to hear that Chezbabe, but I learnt my lesson last year with Onur Air (thru Aegean Flights), ours was first of all 4 different flight time changes, then day changed too. Needless to say I just won't book with them again, rather pay a wee bit extra for other airlines, think Onur Air at the bottom of the pile for flight slots. Initially their flights seem really great value for I'd rather pay not to have all that hassle.

Trouble is, sometimes here in Scotland, there just isn't the choice of flights - we struggled to find anyone else other than Onur Air for the dates we needed.

sorry to hear about that
its not good that you have lost over 2 days of your holiday
but as blondie said up here in scotland there just isnt the choice of flights that we would like
especially further north

We've never had a problem with Onur before, and have used them for years, but perhaps next year we may use another carrier although we know of other companies who have cancelled flights this year with even more disruption than ours.

Thats a right pain, surely youre entitled to some compensation for the loss of 2 days. Even if they pay the absolute minimum and 2 days worth of accommodation. Or could you move the accommodation forward if possible.

i've only flown with them once about 2 years ago and our flight times got changed 4 times in the 14 months between booking them (june) and going out (August year after).

Now they're not that cheap even on the first week of advertising them.

Hope you get somewhere.

BTW i've been looking at flights for my daughter who's just decided to want to come on hols with us, and from Manchester 24 july they're coming out between £280 - £330 ish so if youcould get money back from Aegean would that help if you had to rebook - course depends where youre going from and how much original flights were. So may not be viable. Funny when i rang Sharon to enquire about hotels and flights I said not Onur Air lol.

We were originally going out for 18 days. The only obligation Onur Air has is an alternative flight (Tuesday return instead of Thursday) or a refund. To fly back the same day that has been cancelled with another carrier it would cost us another £400, to extend our holiday and fly with another carrier it would cost us £400 plus 2 extra days accommodation and spending money for 4 adults (something we really can't afford). We've just had to bite the bullet and have a shorter holiday this year, but you never know, things could change again!!!!!! Thanks for your commiserations. x

Ah I see. 2 days difference is ridiculous though.

Hope nothing else changes for you or at least for the better.

Our Onur air flights were also cancelled from Bimingham they have gave us another flight a day earlier for an extra £40 pp. I think it is just a ploy to get extra money off you. Did the origanal flights really exist to start with ??
so looks like the first nite is sleeping under the stars
happy holidaying all xx

Really sorry to hear about the flight changes chezbabe. I do not understand the prices of flights? Would it not be as cheap to book a package deal and then find a hotel of your liking through ICR? I have a package deal and It cost me £280 for the lot. (2 weeks in late May).

Hi
My flight times have been changed and if it were not for me ringing "Holiday's 4 u" i would not have known as i have received no notification from any one. I fly June 25th but apparently they changed ages ago. I have also booked my Transfers with "Icmeler on Line" will they know of the changes, also we will be arriving early will the hotel be aware. :)

Jackie, I had a similar situation, although I have to say that H4U did get in touch with us to notify us about the flight time changes. As for the transfers and accommodation, if you've booked that through ICR you'll need to let them know. A quick email to John at ICR and it was all sorted out for me - that's service for you! :)
