Postby dksbbs » 02 May 2010 12:03

I see that the water Taxi from Icmeler to Marmaris has increased by 25% to 10 Lira, what else has increased in price?

Everything same as everything in the UK has gone up in price along with the rest of the world but as we were all used to cheap prices here then it seems even more dramatic

Thanks Colette
seems like the price of red meat has increased a lot recently
well that means more chicken dishes on holiday instead of steaks unfortunately

happy to say the prices havent risen that dramatically all you can eat chineese with free wine is 20 lire efes aroun3/4.5 lire was a bit sceptical after a pre season trip but its about the same give or take a few pence.went to bodrum /bitez/for a few days the prices there had really shot up at the hotel brace yourself it was 4.5 for a small efes and 6!!!!for a bottle, wine and soda 9!!!.I cant really quote meal prices as i prefer the turkish kitchens for value . Nefes pide is excellent value and very very good, but if you do fancy a steak meal it is anything from 26/32 lire depending on the cut.The most expensive turkish breakfast we saw was 18 lire in yalikavak ,but the full english jobs in icmeler are still around 5/6lire . so panic over i just hope theese prices stay in place for the season as one hotel owner in icmeler we have known for years said he would be reviewing his prices as the season progresses

Taxi boat is now 7.5 Lira as they realised that no one would use them.

I have just put petrol in my car in Turunc and paid £1.70 per litre so £7.65p a gallon.

I am going to trade the car in for a donkey I think

and i moaned at paying £1.20 a litre.

Whats the Turkish government rationale for hammering petol like that. Assume most of the cost is in taxes.
Mind you you still see gas guzzlers knocking around icmeler and the Harleys. But then you see a family of 4 somehow squashed on a scooter.
