Has anyone got any idea how much deodorant, shampoo conditioner etc are at Manchester airport?
We have only got 15kg luggage and someone said that if you buy them after check in at Boots at the airport you can just take them on the plane, is this right?
The toiletries will take up all my valuable clothes space :(

I think the prices are the same as the high street, though the selection's nothing like - for example, I've never seen simple sun cream at the airport
I use my Boots points to spend at the airport, so I'm not dipping into my hol money - you know how easy it is to spend a fortune before even boarding the plane ...

you're welcome Skilly, also they do the sun creams in the pouches rather than bottles - less weight
for you to lug around the airport

https://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/Pro ... N/Vouchers

I had a nosey on the Manc Airport site Skilly to see if there were any prices for Boots, sadly not, though it seems Baby Milk can be ordered for collection there 7 days I think in advance - may help those with little ones who need all the help they can get taking stuff out there :-)

I digress ............. couldn't find any prices for Boots, but came across some VERY lovely offers which I presume change from month to month

I've attached the link above [hope that's OK Admin??]

Have to say, the Prosecco offer seems rather lovely ........................

There is another way of looking at things.

When I go on holiday I make sure that I pack all my toiletries, sun oils and bug sprays into my case before I go then once I have used them on holiday I know I will have extra space coming back for stuff I buy over there

Our Hotel last year in OLU_DENIZ did our laundry, washed, dryed, ironed, brought back to your room, same day service all for about £10.So why not just take half the amount of clothes and get the Hotel to sort them out for you each week?

Hi jaguar,If you review your case closely you may find that the weight of your cloths is not the reason for the problem even though many bring back a lot of items which have not been worn and could of be left at home.
Hairdryers, tongs, straighteners, makeup, slapons, wipeoffs,(at this point I would like to say not me ) sun sceen soaps, shampoos, bug machines, irons, radio, kettles, mugs, tea, coffee, ect ect. and of cause the weight of the empty case its self these are the main culpids that make your baggage heavy........enjoy

There doesn't seem to be any vouchers on manchester airport website at the moment. I wonder when or if they will put them back on. We flew from Terminal 3 last year which is a horrible terminal and there were no decent vouchers to use when we flew in Septemer last year, but I remember there were good ones for Terminal 2. I hope they put them back on as it can be so expensive. Mind you Dalamam Aiport makes Manchester airport prices look like Primark.

Last year i took the least amount of stuff possible or so i thought. I still came home with clothes that i didn't end up wearing so when we go this year i'll be taking less again.
Day time i only tend to wear swim gear and sarongs. I took 3/4 of each and alternated them. You can wash them inbetween and dry them out. There were still some i didn't wear so this year i'll take 2 of each and just wash inbetween.
Undies, i take half for the amount of time i'm going and then wash as i've worn them.
For night time i generally take 1 pair of trousers, 1 pair of shorts, a skirt, and a dress. 3 or 4 different tops and alternate.
Toiletries i like to take with me, i buy shampoo and conditioner combined so that's one bottle less, at home H and I use different shower gels but when we're away we get a unisex smelling one and share. If you have a man who doesn't want to take toiletries with them then my Husband would recommend the Arco make in Tansas, really cheap and it's a bit like Lynx, you can get shower gels/deodrants/aftershave balms. We usually bring loads of it home and H loves it so much
I take towels with me although really i could leave them and get them when i'm there but i've never been over on my luggage.

There,s a great soap from lush called "Honey i Washed the kids" you can use this to shower wash your hair and even wash your smalls with its brilliant most of my friends and family never go abroad without it ,as for shampoo boots and superdrug do double sachets of aussie 3 minuite miracle ,small travel size, body lotion, lynx, dove deodrant and toothpaste, these are usually buy 2 for 3 great if like me your just there for the week and these dont tend to amount to much weight in your luggage ,as for beach towels i always buy them abroad then pass them on another great time learned is to pass them on to ICR the amount of time's both me and hubby have left clothes all in perfect condition just because we have bought stuff to take home and had to lose some baggage weight ,so i think its great that ICR take these items and then donate them on :D

Forgot to say Brightly coloured Khaftan's the short ones not the long ones are great for the evening to team up with little three quarter leggings and cotton vest top, these wiegh practically nothing in your case you can roll them up and they stay crease free i also take a few in different colours as with the leggings ,as they are cotton they help keep you cool and once you have worn the khaftans they can be used to wear over swimwear for the walk to the beach ect can be washed out easily and dry in no time crease free :P
