I was told by Jeep operators that it was a Dutch family.

There are accidents everywhere in the world including Turkey so please don't let this put anyone off enjoying their holiday whether it be in Turkey or anywhere else in the world.

I have been on more than a dozen jeep safaris and never experienced any problems.
I know that accidents can happen anywhere and anytime.
What I can advise everyone to do is at least use a recognised tour operator, this way you will have vehicles that are regularly maintained and insurance will be in force.

This is not to say that the jeep safari on which the accident happened wasnt operated by a tour operator,
just be carefull when booking these cheaper tours.

Same applies to any active sport or pastime you wish to participate in on your holidays.
Sometimes when we are on our holidays good sense goes through the window and we dont see danger.

Do ICR do the Jeep safari tours?

Are they suitable for a 5 year old boy do you think?

Thanks :)

Yes ICR do run the jeep safari.
My grandson was five the first time we took him on the jeep safari, we sat him between us and he had a fantastic time what with the waterfights and travelling down the river (in the jeep).
We called at a little bay were he had a camel ride and went on the jet skis with his mum.
He slept like a log on the way back.
He is 11 now and it is the first thing he asks us to book when we get on holiday.

Hi everyone,

How many people can you get in the jeeps?.....There are 7 of us going this time, possibly 9, and would love to be able to all go together.

We always get 7 in our jeep 8 with the driver.
But there are long wheelbase jeeps that you can get 9 in.
While talking about jeeps, sometimes I have encountered a jeep were one of the holidmakers wants to drive.
There is no way I would ride in a jeep driven by an holidaymaker.
The Turks know the routes, bad bends, humps and hollows.
Call me old fashioned you may but that is my opinion and I will not travel in that jeep driven by any other than a local.

The cost is about £10 per person and I would imagine half price for children, there is lunch included in this but your drinks are extra.
When you go, get him a water gun so that he can squirt everyone.
Also go in clothes you are not bothered about getting dirty as you get dusty and wet.
Make sure cameras and recorders are in plastic bags because there is a lot of water flying about.

Enjoy your day out.
Check excursions at the top of the main page it gives info on a lot of trips.

We took a jeep safari this week, make sure you avoid the white landrover! The one we were in was a nightmare. Very slow, and kept breaking down.
