I had to try it on holiday this year after this reading this thread and was quite impressed.

6 years we've been going to Turkey and never used, I made the whole family try it, they did think i was a bit sad with being so impressed with it. lol

I can see why a Turk would miss it.

Now i know why they only give 1 bog roll in self catering apts.

I wouldnt use it when out and about in case of any accidental spillages but never say never.

def gonna try it the next time I go. never knew it was there before reading this thread and was too chicken the last time to try it out

My thanks for this thread. We didn't know about the little pipe until reading it and used it for the first time this year. Apart from it being very hygienic and "green", I found it pleasant to use. :)

After reading this thread last year I remembered seeing this wheel so when we went i gave it a go, very interesting, just thankful the water wasn't fizzy, very hygenic though.

I see my post yesterday has been slightly edited. :)
I hope it didn't offend anyone too much - just got carried away with the Icmeler magic. :)

It never offended anyone it just that Colette thought you had made a mistake in spelling when you said that you found it erotic and as she couldn't think of a word that you may have meant she mailed me today saying that she had changed it slightly.

Everyone to their own I suppose :)

Just to be clear, it was edited as the word Erotic derives from a sexual background and we have children who read the forum.

That solves the confusion then, because my next comment after Shieldfield was to say, We have had many laughs over this wheel, but I have never heard it called erotic before.

Then when I went into that thread this morning, part of yours had been removed, so I thought I had imagined it  I then edited my post :D

Edit to correct spelling.

Just returned from Icmeler this morning and had read this thread before going and decided to give this a go.
I have to say i found it very hygenic and loved how it dramatically cut dow n on the amount of paper thrown away needlessly.
Everyone needs to know about this and I tried to make sure all the turks I spoke to would make people aware of this, its not the kinda thing they tell you about, i guess they expect that we already know.
We took a load of toilet paper away and ended up giving most of it away when we left.

Reminds me of a definition I read years ago of a bidet , "Something to use before, after and if the water pressure is high enough, instead of"! JB

I agree, I think we are quite disgusting really. There are toilets wheels in Egypt too, bidets in practically every home on the continent. My German relatives have used moist toilet tissues (as well as the bidet) for as long as I can remember. And we are still using dry paper, ugh!

We have used the wheel for the first time this year after reading about it on the forum. We have been going to Icmeler for nine years and never knew what it was for.Unbelievable! We've been telling everybody about it and kept asking each other "Have you used the wheel today?" I know, sad innit? Every home should have one!
