Hand Luggage

Postby maggie_may » 16 Aug 2009 19:58

Hi,
Does anybody know if Hand Luggage is weighed at Dalaman Airport?
We are flying with E***J** and they don't weigh Hand luggage it just has to be a suitable size bag.
Thanks, Maggie

We had ours weighed just last week-luckily enough the bag weighed 8 kilos however it was for both me and hubby. They said it had to be split and luckily enough I had my beach bag inside the hand luggage and done some swaps into that bag-seems ridiculous considering it still weighs the same regardless of one bag or two bags!

i flew with g***esp**n in june and was charged £88 for excess luggage, they weighed my hand luggage as well , on the way back they were charging again and weighing hand luggage but i wasnt over on the return journey(left all my shoes with a friend) for this week.
i have paid the extra this time to allow for excess baggage.
i flew from aberdeen . the funny thing is the woman sitting next to me on the plane was at the end of the check in, had hand luggage as well as her handbag and it wasnt weighed.

I am thankful that our hand luggage has never been weighed, despite my daughter stating loudly 'They haven't weighed my bag!' I just keep them discrete by my feet and pray!

H Natalie,

I always take both my hairdryer and straighteners in my hand luggage. There is no problem with this.

Enjoy your holiday!

We returned from Icmeler last Monday and were really lucky with our check in desk. Our cases were weighed and were 1.4kg over, the guy asked us to show him our hand-luggage (all of which were pretty large bags, but he didn`t even weigh them!!) he then smiled/winked and said have a good journey.....if only all staff at Dalaman were as friendly!!

We were also lucky on the way out from Manchester, our cases were 10kgs over! The guy on the check in desk there told us to cram as much as we could into a beach bag, 5kg later he let us through with no charge.

Think we have got lucky this year....just know we`re gonna be made to suffer next year :(
