Trips from Icmeler to Cyprus (Protaros)

26 Aug 2009 15:28

Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to do a trip from Icmeler to Cyprus (Protaros or Famagusta) by boat, and what would be involved as regards visas etc. I would aim to stay in Kapparis (near Protaros and Famagusta) for couple of nights as I have a villa there that has suddenly become available.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Any idea on costs as well.

Thanks

Do not know of any boat trips from Icmeler / Marmaris to Protaros in Cyprus. Turkish Airlines fly from Dalaman to North Cyprus, Kyrenia area.
If you were staying in Alanya you would have a better chance of making a sea crossing to North Cyprus.

Not sure John but I think Protaras is in the south of Cyprus. Sure we passed through there a few years back when visiting Famagusta from Ayia Napa. If so you would certainly need passports with you as this is Greek.

Thats right Glen but Madhatter is enquiring into any trips from Icmeler to Protaras, I was only trying to show that it is still some distance between them and offered a means of travel to Cyprus from Turkey.

Thanks guys for all your advice, I don't think it is going to be that easy, so will probably just stay in Icmeler.

For some reason I thought it might be just a case of hopping on a ferry from Marmaris, LOL.

cheers

You can get to Rhodes from Marmaris very easily by hydrofoil....
