in our local post office at the moment you can get 1000 lira for £367 which works out at 2.72 to the pound this is the best i've come across

Wow thats a great rate. I just bought some travellers cheques and lira from Travelex and only got 2.37tl to the pound, which I thought was OK.

Just phoned our local post office and they are doing a rate of 2.38 today. Can't decide whether to go for that or wait until I get to Icmeler?

i personally would wait Julie, if your changing up a few hundred quid out there it can make all the difference.
