Does anybody know the exchange rate in Icmeler at the moment?
The best I can get in England right now is around 2.38
Is it worth getting some changed here, or is it better in Turkey ?

Its your call! most people on here will say you sill get a rate of between 2.46 and 2.5 today in icmeler. MY advice would be to change up around £50 just to see you to the resort and then use one of the supermarkets (the one under the webcam is good) to get a better rate.

I just bought a few to tide us over till we get some in Icmeler and the best rate i could get is 2.35 here.

i think the rate will be getting lower in icmeler now compared to what it was like last week when we were there
we got 2.47 from the supermarket under ICR always found them to be the best but the rate has dropped since we came home on tuesday
still worth getting your lira in turkey though cause it will be better than what you will get in the UK

2.40 will be about wright. The bank rate has dropped from 2.51 on monday to 2.45 yesterday. Seems to be on quite steep decline now. Hope it goes back up.

I'm not surpised with all the negative press about the UK economy this week and also the fact that Turkey is very close to a new IMF deal. Just happy that I changed £800 at 2.4825 a few weeks ago as a precaution, will make the drop more bearable for me changing the rest of money over in two weeks time.

During the 2weeks we were in Icmeler in May the rate went from 2.25 to 2.40 so I have my fingers crossed,hoping it does not drop to much before we we turn in September. I only take any TL with me that I brought back with me from the previous visit and do all money exchanges in Icmeler.

the post office was 2.33 to the pound yesterday. which has dropped in a month from 2.41 on 27 June.

I've decided to buy lira each time I got paid otherwise I keep dobbing into the english money.

Then get some TC's out of hubbys pay just before we go. Its what works for you and i dont want to be caught like last year when the rate was dire in august ,2.11 to the pound and dropping daily it felt. My bank were offering a lower rate than the P.O.

Interbank rate at the moment 2.44 so 2.36 is a bit low in the resort you should be able to get closer to the interbank rate .
The interbank rate opened at 2.42 this morning so on the way up

I agree, the supermarkets normally give a better rate that the 3 bells, but as it is real time information it does give a good guide, hopefully will be able to get 2.40 or higher when I'm there next week

2.38 was the best rate we got 2 days ago. It's gone down again today I've been told. That was in the supermarket under the ICR office.
