Night out in Turunc

Postby Narky marky » 22 Jul 2009 21:29

Hi All,

Tickets have arrived today and we are ready to fly on the 31st. Been on a steady diet of Morrisons EFes since January just to keep in practice!!!!!

This will be our sixth time back to Icmelar and we must have done every bar/restraunt in all that time. So for one night and one night only we are thinking of decending on Turunc. we do a couple of boat trips every year and always stop at Turunc and have a drink but we have never had food there.

Some recomendations would be great.

We do meet up with the same crowd ever year so I think there could be 20 to 30 of us from the ages of 9 to 53.So a lot of leg room required!!!!!

Hi Narky,

I spend quite a lot of time in Turunc (have an apartment there). There are loads of great resturants but I'd recommend:

On the front:

Korfez - great food, portion sizes and service, looks over the beach
Cardak - great food and service, on the marina, you can watch the world go by in a fantastic setting

Off main road:

Cinar - probably a bit too small to cater for your group but if you can fit in (you'd probably best to check beforehand rather than just turn up). However if you can get in you wouldn't be disappointed (Cinar is excellent value with no compromise on food quality). Just a small family run resturant.

On main road:

There are plenty and all good value and quality - I especially like Arcadia and Picese, but if you like sea food you must go to Fidans (has a resturant on both the main road and overlooking the beach - take your choice).

Bars

There are not many bars but the few there are will be able to offer a decent evening relaxing for few hours. Fidan is one, Pallette another, but my favourite is Walk Inn Bar - there's good music on in the summer along with pool, PC's for internet and some good acts on (usually a thursday).

Hope you have a great time - I'll be there for 2 weeks from 3rd August. I'll keep an eye out for a group of 30 hungry folk walking down the street, being turned away from resturant after resturant :D

Hi Crag,

Thanks for the info. Will probably try the ones on the front for somthing to eat. I take it entertainment on thursdays is similar to that in Icmelar.

When we stop over on boat trips I am pretty sure its the Cardak that we drink in. :D
