Couple of Qestions: temps & tickets?

Postby marshfamily » 21 Jul 2009 20:16

Hi,
Just been looking at holidaytruths and they are reporting temps over 50 degrees regularly, now dont get me wrong i love hot weather but is this going to mean that it too hot be outdoors?

Also we have had our etickets for Onur and we have 2 adults and 3 kids however all of them are marked "ADLT" will this be a problem?

Sorry about these questions i am a born worrier and its 4 days till we jet off and panic & paranoia is starting to set in !

I cant help you with the tickets, but I was in Marmaris 2-3 years ago, when there was heatwave in the middle of June and the temps were hitting 50+ degrees. I found it unbearable, but others seemed to not mind it, we are all different though, thats why I stick to Turkey now for the first two weeks in June and the first two weeks in October.

I am sure you will find ways to cool down if its too hot for you, have a great holiday.

Temps as high as you are mentioning are fairly common place in August!! I have seen thermometers explode :o Don't worry my kids cope ok, we have been coming for 3 years to Icmeler in August and have seen high temps and the kids are only 4 & 7 now!! Relax & enjoy x

Tony, all children regardless of age, except those under 2 years (infants) are classed as adults on most flights now.

Hope this puts your mind at ease.

Hi Marshfamily. We havn't got our tickets yet but our invoice is showing 7 adults. I'm sure its nothing to worry about as it just means that you'll have a seat, but if you have any doubt I'd call them just to ease your mind. as far as temperatures go 50+ degrees is not unusual out there. Just be sensible and head for the shade if it gets too much, but once you're aclimatised it'll feel like any other day out there......bl**dy hot! :D

Thank you all for your replies they have made me feel better now.
We normally go in June and have been there during the 2nd/3rd weeks 2 years ago when there was a heatwave but we found it OK, so if thats anything to go by we should be fine.
We just didnt want to take the kids out of school again and got good prices on the flights so decided to book for late July/August.

Regards

I've just had a look at my Onur Air e-tickets and it shows 2 adults (ADT) and 1 child (CHD) in the box next to each name.

Might depend on the age. Over 12 and they may show up as adults.

Well i have just checked the website where we booked the flights and these are only 2 dropdown options:

"Adults & Children" (drop down box to specify number)

"Infants (Under 2)" (drop down box to specify number)

So looks like all is OK!
