SWEDEN has some questions!

We are a family of 5, 4 gals and 1 guy ( thats me ) and i have some questions about icmeler, i´ve been travelling all over the world and i love what the internet is doing for travellers.

I´ve been reading in the forum and it looks like we´re up for a treat, everybody talks only good for icmeler. I still have some questions so i will lay them here for those who might have the answers. I thank you in advance ( right hand on my heart ) and hopefully our path will cross.

1. Wich part of the beach is best for a three year old girl? im talking about depht and currents and so on. Of course she´ll alway be under surveillance.
2. Skimboarding, is there some kind of activity that goes in that direction, i understand that there is no waves what so ever. Should i bring my skimboard or leave it at home?is the beach crowded?
3.Mosquitoes, is that a problem? is there more mosquitoes there than in other places? i guess that with the forest close and warmth and humidity it might be an issue right?
4. Are the unwritten rules about getting up in the morning ( mallorcastyle) goin down to the beach and leave your towel to reserve place? Does this happen? I hate that ´couse i never make it up in the morning
5 Crime, is there criminality, drug users, child molesters and /or other bad things in icmeler one should keep an eye on? Are the inhabitants poor or is it the tourists that stand for criminal acts like for example stealing on the beach, stealing from your table at the resturant, does it happen?
6. Is the police/guards visible, patroling

Well i wrote all i had in my chest off and i´m looking foward to read the nice answers and good recomendations.

1. I would say all the beach is OK but I would stay in the middle where the water gently slopes into the sea, I have not experienced any issues with currents but I do not go out to far.

2. If I think I know what you mean by Skimboarding I would leave it at home, the beach is crowded so there is very little room to do this.

3.Mosquitoes are sprayed most nights by the mosquito men, take normal precautions and you should be OK, if you travel inland on a jeep safari make sure you wear protection.

4. Most beach areas are looked after, you will always find a sunbed somewhere, if you get to know the men on the beach and pay them them they will reserve a bed for you.

5 Never had a problem with any type of crime in my last 6 visits, take normal precautions, hire a safe at your hotel and only take what you need. I have left my camera in my bag when swimming at the beach and so far so good. I have never seen drugs, the people are poor but again no issues, be careful though of the fruit seller on the beach, he is very expensive.

6. You see the Police driving around at night, they are visible


Have a great holiday, we fly out the end of next week for our 21 days in heaven.

I would leave it at home

The area is sprayed regularly so not really a problem
