Decisions decisions...........where to holiday soon

Postby sheepy » 11 Jul 2009 09:58

Well, I'm faced with a bit of a dilemma. We've got first refusal on a cheap caravan in Conwy, Wales. Beautifully situated backing on to the railway line, and the forecast is rain, some more rain, and a possiblity of showers - but you never know, we might get a heatwave (In Wales!!).

It would be nice though, it's near an Aldi to get stuff in for meals, and there are the slot machines in Llandudno, and we always like to have a walk on the pier and up the Orme.
I also fancy spending a day at the mountain biking centre 8)

Or, we could get a late booking for Icmeler, for not much more than we'd spend in Wales, but we'd miss all that lovely wet weather - the pool just isn't the same :( And seriously, it might perhaps be just a bit TOO hot, wouldn't really be able to go walks in the midday.
And of course, sat at a restaurant by the canal, when we could be sat in the caravan, listening to the rhythmic pitter patter on the tin roof, well - it's a tough decision really.

Just don't know what to do

We have a mobile home at Prestwick, Scotland, and can spend weeks there if we want to, but still we make 2 visits a year to Icmeler so you have no choice, it has to be Wales in the rain, no way sleepy

We live about twenty minutes from Conway, and there are some beautiful places to visit in Wales, but having said that, there is no comparison to Icmeler. I know where I would choose. Having said that Wales is home, so I suppose in a way there is no place like it, but still Icmeler has that magic touch which we all love.

 Thanks guys

Basically we booked (Sort of) that caravan earlier in the year, when the old finances were looking unsure (Credit crunch etc). Really don't fancy going now though, we stayed in a cottage there last year, and although it's all very good, it's not really perhaps somewhere to go year in year out (Personal opinion).

We can drive there in under 2 hours, so perhaps a weekend or even a day trip to throw some designer mud at Coed Y Brenin mountain bike centre is in order sometime 8)

So where to go instead, I believe Skegness is nice this time of year ya know

Shall see

From past experience you will spend more money on takeaway chippies in Wales than eating out in Icmeler!!no comparison.
