Glad to see that you stayed at the Alvaro. Great photo with Sayeed from Kontes and Gogo too.

What camera or SLR are you using?

Thanks all for the nice comments - when I first see the photos I never think they do the place justice (what could!), so it's always lovely to hear that people enjoy them...

To Mr M.: it's a Nikon D60, which I'm still finding my way around, esp. with the 50mm f/1.4 which I somewhat overused this time. I promise to practice between now and August ;) By the way, Rosie asks how Bury is these days?

Cheers,
Paul.

Sorry Robbo, missed your question... no-one at The Alvaro itself called Zaza, but was someone of that name (possibly the manager?) at The Lemon Tree. Could that be who you're thinking of?

I was having a "less than tactful" moment (Efes is like that...) and mentioned the coincidence with names with "our" Zaza at Havana Bar, but like the true professional he is he let it slide graciously, whilst nevertheless pointing out that they have been in Icmeler almost the same length of time :)

And Lynda: say "Merhaba" to everyone from us, would you please 8)

İyi geceler,
Paul.

Hi Paul,

Nikon D60. Very nice. I'm using a Canon 350D.

As for Zaza....

Zaza aka Metin works for Ozcan who owns the Lemon Tree & Alvaro. He is a great friend and feels like a brother. I am missing him this year. I remember the night when my daughter got some glass in her foot. Zaza wanted to take her to hospital but we go some tweezers and fished it out.

Just got a text from Lynda to say that she's off to bed and up early in the morning. We will have our reunion in October.

Thanks for the story, Mr Mischief. Zaza/Metin certainly seemed lovely when we met him, which is I guess why my little failure to think stuck with me.

And ouch!!! Glass... feet... been there before and do not want to revisit :(
