We're going there next week - for the first time. From the ticktes I have this address. Type it into Google maps - you'll get the location and a couple of sites with reviews (one site has 8 listed).

Have just got back today after a week at the Oren Apart (NOT the Oren Hill Apart) and here are my thoughts :

Having booked a studio and getting a 1 bed apt we were quite pleased (jut the two of us) . I think the norm here is 1 bed aparts all round.

The 'complex' is very small (not a complaint) but we were in the much older part (looks like they've bought an adjacent block and colour coded it to fit in). It's in a lovely , quiet residential area (mosque apart , but that's life it seems). There is a nice compact ,community feel to the place IMO and lovely greenery all around.

The apartment was spotless inside and out. Lovely cheery room maid - even if she refused to give me any toilet roll. Advantage of these apartments is that you can have breakfast while in the shade and enjoy the last of the sun at day end. Also lovely view to the hills behind. Otherwise the other parts all seem to have pool views . The pool is small (seems to be the norm) and has a kiddies pool adjacent.

Clean towels every day and the maids do a lovely job when making the beds - if you stay there you'll see what I mean.

Aparently (we saw it but never used it) there is a dolmus from right outside to the Hotel Marti (for the beach).

Complaints :

Mosque alert !! It's ony 200 yards away.

Is it really so unreasonable to expect loo rolls to be supplied ?

The lounge furniture in the apartments is a disgrace(I am basing this on my experience of being in a clearly older part of the complex). It didn't affect us but if we'd had the kids I would have refused to stay there. It's ridiculous for any travel company to expect that a 1980's (yes , it's really that old) fold down foam chair and twin settee can in any way be used for a week or two. Because of my snoring I was banished to the lounge. Uncomfortable doesn't even get close. :x To be fair , fellow guests in the newer aparts seemed to have no grumbles.

The poolside bar was nice and there was a fair selection of snacks but the pricing was totally unrealistic. I didn't mind paying a bit extra for a beer/coke but it was cheaper and better to take a 5 min walk to the local Turkish eatery.

The man in charge seems add no value whatsoever aside from being in charge at the cash desk and needs to get off his ass and 'press the flesh'. He'd also benefit from some training in retail management. On the upside , the (other) staff were friendly and attentive. After a busy day at the pool we had a Sunday roast there - great value and well cooked. PS by the time we lefty (last night) they had adjusted prices ONLY for the evening meals which seemed quite varied and well priced.

Overall (furniture apart) we had a lovely , relaxing week and everyone there seemed to be of the same opinion. No reasons not to go back to Oren BUT no way would I expect my kids to put up with the sleeping arrangements.

Highlight of the location is it's a 5 mins walk to the Wayside for the best steak I've had in years. I'd have no concerns about going back to the Oren but guys ...you have to fix the furnishings first !!
