Luggage Trolleys

Postby swc24 » 16 Jun 2009 08:58

Hi All

just been looking at Manchester airport website see they are now making you pay for the trolleys (although you did get your money back when you return the trolley) how many people will be bothered to return the trolley if they are running late just another way to make money me thinks

I disagree, I think it is more down to the fact that lazy people just abandon them then they have to pay someone to go round and collect them.

I think the worst thing that some of the giant supermarkets have done, is to take away the pound trolley lock things. It really peeves me when some lazy idiot has abandoned his/her trolley and it comes rolling towards my pride and joy.

Some people are just bone idle.

Although it is a con at Dalaman where they don't give you the pound back.

You have always had to pay £1 for trolleys at Doncaster airport but not at Humberside. I always have to make sure I have a pound coin when I come home to Doncaster as am usually loaded up with buys from Icmeler.
Is worth a quid not to struggle though.

Most cases and holdalls have wheels on them now a days anyway so for us it's not a problem. If you pay you £1 and get it back then i don't see the problem.

Dont worry to much about spending £1 for a trolley,a 10p coin works in them just as good.

Most cases have wheels now anyway, so we never bother with a trolley either - makes life a lot simpler, as Danni says!

unfortunately there is normally someone standing at the machine at dalaman and you have to hand them the money before they put it in the machine
somehow i dont think the 10p pieces would work as im sure that the turkish people are clued up on what coins to accept

Cases all have wheels now thank god and long handles so i for one dont feel the need to use airport trolleys but then again we always only have one case each and one piece of hand luggage ,but for folks travelling with alot more baggage i suppose to pay a pound to cart them round is a bargain :D
