Bars with free WiFi ???

Postby dj_sploits » 15 Jun 2009 06:10

Merhaba,

as a proud iPhone owner I was wondering if there are any bars in Içmeler that offer free WiFi? It will help me replying to emails etc without getting stung for huge data roaming charges. Plus I will be able to leave great comments on my Facebook status to annoy everyone that I'm in heaven and they are stuck at home :D

Hi dj_sploits
I would check with O2 as the web and wifi bolt on you get with your iphone tariff is for use in the uk only, don't want you to get stung with a large bill for data roaming.

Hi tarnlass,

yes as far as I'm aware the O2 bolt on is for the UK only. But if I can connect to a WiFi hotspot out there then it wont cost me anything as I will be using one of the bars WiFi connections (a bit like if you have WiFi at home). Will cost a fortune though if I use 3G/EDGE/GPRS.

Yes it will apply for everything that has WiFi (Mobiles, laptops etc). Just make sure you get the code from the bar/hotel for their network and then you cant go wrong. Just search for their network name, try to connect and it should ask you for a WEP/WPA code (only if the network is secure). enter the code they give you (if needed) and you should be connected and you wont attract any costs as it is paid for by the bar to the ISP.

Hope that helps
