Istanbul Airport Lounge (International Departures)

Postby fatblokecaver » 27 May 2009 11:27

Hi all,
We are thinking of flying with Turkish Airlines this year. We have sampled many pack em in and ship em off flights and have decided to go shedualed this time, complimentary drinks all the way.
Anyway, we have a 4 hour stop over in Istanbul on the way home and are wondering if anyone has sampled the VIP lounge?
It will cost us £100 for the 4 of us but does have free nibbles, soft drinks and REAL drinks. Is it worth the money and is it good or bad?
The price of the flights is reasonable, won't say how much as I can't find any cheaper yet, the only drawback is the time travelling - 9 hours out and 7 back home but saves us about £150 - £200.

Will await your expert replies.

Flying in form Heathrow going to Dalaman then by taxi onto Icmeler.
The run out to Dalaman has only a 1 hour 35 mins wait but on the way back the wait at Istanbul is 4 hours - will need to keep the children occupied and with the cost of food etc at Dalaman so expensive the lounge seems to be a good option if it is worth it.

I flew Business Class with Turkish Airline three years ago from Istanbul and used the Business Class lounge, I thought it was one of the best lounges I have ever used. It was cool and relaxing, English newspapers, TV, refreshments etc

If it's the same same lounge as the VIP lounge then I think you will enjoy it.
