Efes

Postby smc4761 » 16 May 2009 14:55

I am due to leave for Icmeler early tomorrow morning for my 2 weeks in the sun

Was doing a final shop today for my son who is not going with us. In Morrisons today I saw a bottle of EFES which was only £1, just had to buy this which I will drink tonight just to get me in the mood

So, how did it taste then? ;)

Could someone compare it to one of the international beers (ie Bud, Coors, Carlsberg etc) to I get an idea of what I was be shovelling down my throat for two weeks LOL

I find it a little bit like bud, but I buy Efes in bottles in Icmeler, but it comes in draught too.

Yeh i agree its a bit like budweiser, i say this because my fiance is really fussy with his beer and will only drink budweiser yet he loves Efes, this is the only two beers he will drink.
Hope this helps

It certainly does help. Bud is one of the only two beers I drink at home from the bottle, the other being Coors Light.

Super, I think me and the Efes will get on just fine

If you have only paid a pound, you would be better off staying in England cos its more expensive in Ichmeler,

Am I the only one, who finds it dosent taste right back in the UK?

I've had a few bottles from Wetherspoons, and bought a case from Markro once, and it just dosent have that same taste, as it does, when you have it served to you back in Icmeler.

Also the cans from tansas taste a bit skank.

I think you definitely need the Icmeler atmosphere to have the full taste of the Efes.

Definately need to be in Icmeler for it to taste right. Not a big fan of it when in this country, but over there tastes so much nicer.

I saw this thread on Saturday and nipped out to Morrisons to get a few bottles so I'd know just what I'm going to be drinking in 5 weeks. I honestly can't make my mind up whether I like it or not!

Would you recommend bottles when in Icmeler or draught? I'm always a bit wary as to how clean the pipes are etc so I've mainly stuck to bottles when abroad before.

I dont think there is any problem with the hygiene of the pipes, but I just find that the draught efes goes flat quick, so thats why we stick to the bottles, but we make sure they are freezing cold.

I am not mad about it in this country either but it's so nice when in Icmeler. Can't wait to get over there to taste it again. Tickets came today 2 and half weeks to go.
