Hi and welcome to the forum.

I haven't stayed at the Alvaro but it has good reviews. Have a look at the top of the page and put Alvaro into the search button, there are quite a few threads already on.

Hope you have a wonderful time in Icmeler, its a great place. July will be very hot, so make sure you have plenty of strong sun lotion. The people in Icmeler are great and just cant do enough for you.

Hi Richard.

We've stayed at the Alvaro 5 times now, and are going back this September. We love the place. It fits our requirements to a T..

Firstly it is situated in the middle of the newer aspect of Icmeler. It is close to all restaurant/bars etc. but just out of it to make it paeceful if that's what you want.

There are 2 pools, and the smaller one has a water slide. last time we were there they operated an hour on hour off system, which suited everyone really. It gives you time to enjoy it, and then time to settle the kids down (and yourself:) ) for a bit before it starts off again.

It's owned by John & Danielle, who are just ace. Nothing ever seems a problem for them (which i think is true of most Turkish people). John is Turkish and Danielle is from Cornwall (i think).

The bar staff are very friendly and thankful for the quick reactions of the waiter a few years ago when my boy slipped into the pool, he was lifted straight out, and he was fussed so as not to be upset - really good!!

The food there is nice, the beer cold and the service quick and cheerful - what more does abnybody need??

There are enough sunloungers around the pool, and we never found them a problem.

The apartments are extremley clean, and apart from the wooden covered walls, the floor, work surfaces and sides are marble. Lovely and cool, but not as much fun when you're wet :) .

As it's your first time there, i really hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and hope you get as much out of Icmeler as we seemed to have.

Enjoy

we stayed at the alvaro and loved it great to have a proper shower cubicle!! the kitchens are a bit basic so a travel kettle would come in handy.
