English money

Postby Silverfox BC » 25 Apr 2009 10:55

Just been informed by lady going on Norwich Flight next Friday week that Thomas Cook have phoned her and said she cannot change any English money in Turkey and that they also will not accept Travellers cheques. Can anyone put any light on this. Lets hope she has got it all wrong, cant see they will not accept English money or cash cheques, are they just trying to sell their money :!: :!:

Sounds like the person from Thomas Cook doesn't have a clue what they are talking about.

Sounds like thomas cook are trying to get her to exchange money with them before she goes or she has got her wires mixed up. But you can change money in almost any supermarket or restraunt.

Hmmm,. if they won't take ££s, how are we supposed to pay the visa!?!?!

seriously, we ALWAYS take £s and change them over there simply because we get a far better exchange rate!

totally agree that TC lady hasn't got a clue

I had an argument with woman in their (TC)foreign exchange the other week she kept telling me to get euro traveller cheques and told me the exchange rate here than over there I told her no I get more there, so after a while she said the woman with her have you ever heard of this, getting more for your money there than here, this was after telling her I had been before. Plus I was change some euro's so should this not have told her I didn't want Euros.

They are at it!

You have to laugh at these travel agents..........not a clue whatsoever, obviously they wanted to change your money for you and reap the commission.
