Firuze are very good, I'd also recommend them - I bought a lovely pendant there last summer.
Another good one I use quite often i the Sultan jewellery shop, a large one on the main road just on the corner where the Prince apartments are.

Gold is still reasonable over there, but as the cost of gold has gone up world-wide it's not quite as cheap as it was.

Beautiful designs though - and really good quality jewellery.

Speaking from experience I suggest you shop around carefully. A necklace in what was our favourite jewellers a couple of years back was £297 and by shopping around, the exact same one was £160 elsewhere. Some difference! Needless to say we wont be visiting our friends again.

We met the couple that runs Aquamarine last year. They seem to be very genuine and nice people, we ended up buying two rather lovely rings from them and will be visiting them again next week.

I'll have to plug my old friend Ahmet, Ozans' jewellers, he has a lot of repeat custom. He was based down at the front next to the Marti but has moved up into the town along from the exchange centre.Probably been there for around 5 years now, great and trustworthy( as most Turks are!)
copied a Charles Rennie Mackintosh earring and made it into a pendant necklace, simply stunning.Cheers Ahmet.

I would recommend Kurt Jewellers on the corner along from the Old Famous Kitchen if you are looking for diamonds (Ask for Steve)

We have had some lovely jewellery made there and always got a good price.

You should always shop around just to make sure, competition is very fierce this year as tourism has dropped this year.

Correction to my previous reply. The jewellers we like are actually called Firuze jewellery owned by Murat and Sona next door to Aquamarine.
We bought a very nice ring there again last week.

I have just posted a topic about a jewellery shop in Ýçmeler, my fiance bought my engagement ring there.Anyway, the shop is called Ruby on the main road up from The 3 Bells. Thoroughly recommend, they are lovely people and there is an english girl working there too.
