Just received notification that our flight times with Onur Air have been changed - surprise, surprise. We had a fantastic flight time of 10.20am on a Thursday morning from Edinburgh, now its 9.10pm, which is doing us out of precious Icmeler time. I know the flight times are subject to change but a difference of 12 hours is ridiculous. I was just looking at the airport hotels the other night, glad I didn't book because I would have lost my money.

Normally it's not the airlines fault, often they are waiting for time slot confirmation from the airports and air traffic control which for the summer season will be confirmed around this time by the third parties.

It's unfortunate that you will loose an evening in Icmeler but your flight back will be so much nicer, you will be able to have a good night sleep and leave about lunch time so you do get an extra morning.

So far I have seen the flight from Manchester on a Monday change by 2.5 hours and the Wednesday flight from Liverpool change from 9.00am to 20:00 for flights before July 22nd and from 9.00am to 17:15 for flights after and including the 22 July.

I would imagine there are others as well, but booking early and getting the low prices it is something I now expect to happen.

I'm sure you will have a great holiday anyway in our little place called heaven.

I have a theory in regards to Onurs times etc.
Is it a bit of "tit for tat" thing, due to the Turkish goverment or whatever, being rather strict in their acceptance of UK airlines into Turkey, something like a get your own back thing !!
Its not just times we are mucked about with, at Manchester you have to catch a bloody bus to get to the plane, especially the 379/380 Friday morning flight, its as if Onur havnt paid their fee to use the boarding towers.
Or is the UK being spiteful and childish.

At least you will all still be going. Some forum members can't get there this year. I appreciate it is annoying but hey, would rather have a few hours delay but still know i will get there. Our Monarch flights a couple of years ago were due to go on schedule but ended up being 9 hours delayed! We still got there safely and that was with a 2 & 4 year old. Great fun in Manchester airport :D :D :D

I never had that problem last year on that flight, we used a normal gate, you may have just been unlucky.

Hi Dave
We have used that flight Onur 379/380 about 11.00 Friday. 4 times last year and over the years probably 12/13 times and apart from the odd time when we used a conventional gate up around 212 or so we have always gone down to gate 300 at the bottom of the stairs to be bused out
So we must have had a lot of bad luck  or you have been lucky.
We will see what happens this year as we are booked for the same again.

Hi Peli, I must have been the lucky one, it was my first flight with Onur last year, booked again this year (31st July) so fingers crossed it will be from the gate, thanks for the info, helps us know what to expect.

Hi Dave
This flight 379/380, you might have been on a differant one there is two flights that go out within ten mins of each other around 11 o-clock Friday, both from gate 300 downstairs, it bloody chaos sometimes It is a regular one throughout the year and is mainly used by holidays4u/ aegean, so there must be some strange whellin an dealin going on depending possably on which tour op pays for what !!!
I guess we will never know what does go on behind the scenes,we are only the mugs at the end of the line, might see you on the bus one day , its about six days overland  .

Don't forget that h4u and Aegean are not Onur Air and hence that is the reason they go from the bowels of the earth.

Other travel companies also charter Onur flights and they will go from a gate

We're flying from Newcastle - flights have changed 2 times in 3 day. Started off on the 20th Aug then went to the 21st then 2 days later it was changed again to the 17th Aug - 4 bloody days difference. :x

Just waiting for confirmation from our accommodation to see if they can change to these dates. :? Bit stuck if they can't

Cheers John

I'm sure I have read from someone that their Onur air flight from Cardiff was cancelled and they have been moved to Bristol so not just the North of England but Wales as well is being affected.

Reading back through the posts its seems that it is mainly the reginal air ports that have the biggest problems, Is it only Onur or are other companies being hit the same with these flight slot changes. We can possably understand an hour or two because they dont get their final time till a week or two before, But days differant, thats well out of order. That sounds like the flight has been pulled and they have put you on another one.

Just had a thought ,"I know thats dangerous Admin" :)

Do you think that Onur might be stretching themselves a bit too far,by trying to cover the lost flights that were XL, and coming unstuck

No.

They sell flight only and also sell full packages so they switch people around and dates around depending on how bookings are going
