No, I have decided to wait until Tuesday, I will refeed Tues, Wed, Thur, ready to arrive at Lancaster on the Friday. No doubt I will have a nice meal and a few drinks with my Sister, then off to Scotland on Saturday. Excited at the thought of seeing my Family again, but more excited to eat and drink

Hi all,
been a while since I posted but still been reading everyones comments. Still envious of the people who are going on their hols soon. I still havn't been able to sell my flight tickets for July and because of the credit crunch not sure if we will be able to go later in the year :(
Also I'm feeling even more depressed today as my son who is in the navy has just got his first draught and he is going away with H.M.S. Ocean on the world tour and is going to be away for ten months. To top it all he wasn't supposed to go until 28th April so he would of been home for mothers day and my 50th birthday but today he's been told he flies out to the ship in a weeks time   So I've had a few tears today and been feeling really sorry for myself. I know its a great opportunity for him visiting all those countries Cyprus, Turkey, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and quite a few more but I'm going to miss him soooooo much and I might not even have a holiday to cheer myself up :(
So sorry for the moans

Mary and Fanny will pass your good wishes on to my daughter, I am really proud. She has a degree already but chose the wrong subjects. Fanny no offence taken at all don't worry, Mr J nowhere near ready to give up. Sanjo, keep your chin up. Your son will have some fantastic tales i am sure when he comes home. I really hope you manage a holiday. You can still enjoy Mother's day and your 50th just keep the lovely memories that are special to you. They won't go for the 10 months while your son is away

Sanjo big hugs to you. I am sure once you get used to the idea you will be fine about your Son and like you said, what a fantastic opportunity for him to see the world.
Have you tried any of the other sites like HT or Trip Advisor to see if you can get your tickets sold? Or even ebay? Hopefully you will get them sold and I really hope you manage to get to Icmeler later in the year.

Fanny - Now, I will leave you in suspense as to what tonight will bring. I do have some techy thoughts, but I also have an idea for an old thread too, so you will need to log on tomorrow

Hi Rosie
Re the ex-rate I have allways used www.xe.com it monitors all the world rates every miniute, allthough not when the world markets are closed like today,Sunday.
It is easier if you Google it, it is the second one down, "xe universal currancy converter", on the list. Rather than hitting the www number on this post, it will give you a better and simpler page to follow.
These are the true bank rates and not some company who are making a profit, like the co-op or tommy cowboys etc, you can even set it to pop up every miniute with the new rate.

XE is good but seldom reflects what ANY firm offer you in reality.

If you use the post office: http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/f ... d=19300210

you wont be far out...

Sunny but still really cold here today - was watching son play football this morning and it was a bitterly cold wind. By the time the final whistle blew, I couldn't feel my feet any more! Oh to be in Icmeler again...*sigh*
