I haven't stayed there but it is right next door to Havana bar  I did not like the look of the pool which is very exposed as it is roadside   But have no idea what the hotel is like.

I havent stayed there either, but I agree with Jozzy about the pool area, no privacy whatsoever, right on the road and everyone in the Havana Bar can see you. I just prefer that little bit more privacy personally.

I did go into the foyer last year to see a couple of friends who worked there and the foyer was very nice. Sorry I cant help much.

Hi jayj, am afraid the Alinda wouldn't be for me either, like others have said the pool's right on the road and doesn't get much sun.
great location though!!! maybe if the price was right and it was the only way i could get to have a hol in Icmeler, then I'd give it a go

best bet I reckon is to ring ICR on their UK number, tell them what you fancy and what you can afford, and they'll come up with something to suit

Hi All thank you for your replies, if it is just the pool that is the problem then that would be ok with us, as we like to walk about or beach we have never done AI before, so when they say local beer is that Efes ?

Cheers

Hi, I'm stayin with 4 of my friends at the Alinda Hotel in May, we've heard the same about the pool but the beach isn't too far away so we booked. I think it is Efes that is classed as the local beer. Can't wait 12 weeks to go :D :D :D

ive been coming to icmeler for many years. and zaza in Havana which is next door is a good friend of mine. ive spent many a day and night with him and his lads. last year we got talking to a young couple from London who was staying there. and they was not impressed at all. the food was topped up each day and if not eaten then they would make it into some thing else so they eat at zazas most days so much for all inclusive. i hope this helps.

Generally speaking AI hotels in Marmaris/Icmeler are not that great unless you go to a 5 star AI.The food is generally repetitive and not that great quality. If you can afford it self catering is a great option as the food in restaurants is excellent and there are many restaurants that do great meal deals.

We all save up hard all year for our holidays and there must be nothing worse thatn going to a hotel that is not that great. Have a word with ICR ansee what accomadations they have. Before you book anything I would also recommend that you do your homework first and read reviews of where you will be staying which will give you an idea what to expect.

The beach at Icmeler is not that great lots of stones and shingle, not a great deal of sand

Re the Alinda
I dont know anything personaly about the hotel but I do know that it has had a very negative name in the last few years.
What I do know is that it has had a change of ownership and management during 2008, and I personaly know one of the partners very well. and I know that he along with others in the management are very aware of the so called "bad name" it has had, and are very sincere in reversing this negativity, and also a lot of refurbishment has been going on.
I think and do believe that 2009 will see a differance.

let's hope so Peli if things were as bad as some of the reviews make out
also, some of the reviews on the first link allude to improvements since it's been taken over

Yeh lets hope so Fanny
I cant understand the inconsistancy of the reviews, it seems that it is a hotel of two halves.
The 10 out of 10s , versus the, 1 out of 10s. there doesnt seem to be a middle of the road !!
You wouldnt belive its the same place, I think it seems to be a wait and see thing.

There used to be an Alinda 2, just tear Tansas. It was the first pace me and the missus stayed in Icmeler so holds a little special place for us. But to be honest, the place wasnt up to much, and I read some shocking reviews of the place just before we went (wasl already booked though) the staff however were fantastic, only bettered by Mehmet and the guys at Efes Inn.

Back to the OP, the Alinda looks like a giant toilet, and always seems empty. Go stay at the efes or Blue Rainbow, both on the same street, and both a million times better than the Alinda looks.
