Good news, the exchange rate still seems to be rising a little.

1.00 GBP = 2.29070 TRY

I,d love to know where they get these rates from. I got back from Icmeler on Saturday and the rate had only started to rise in the las few days of the holiday. At the beginning the rate was 2.15 and by last Saturday it was only 2.28. Hopefully it has gone to 2.5 but I somehow doubt that

Should be even higher tomorrow as the bank rate has gone up today by another 0.05 Lira. thats 0.20 increase in two days.

Interchange FX is 2.46 at the moment for home delivery.

Yeap 2.61 bank rate, but purchase rate is normally less.

Lets hope it continues to climb, following this year I think I will buy in advance as soon as it hits 2.6 at the change shops, don't fancy the dip that happened this year in August to happen again, it may go higher but I think I will take the gamble..

Last Friday it was 2.28 and yesterday it went to 2.42 in the change shop in the square. The local businesses are expecting it to go higher today.

As you say, just when we've come home

The rate today is 2.53 to the £
What a shame it wasnt this in August (2.15 to £) then a lot of the reports we have been getting on prices being a lot more expensive wouldnt have happened.

It was the exchange rate that has been the problem this year.

lira

Postby denisthefish » 21 Oct 2008 17:55

looks like its luck of the draw with the exchange rate, was thinking of buying some now the rate is up,but you can bet your bottom lira,it will go to three to a pound, did seem a little more expensive this year, but i think you you have to weigh up the benefits of going to one of the best holiday destinations around, like some of the other members,we now travel out to some local beaches and resorts, quite resonable if you do it as a group,or of course I.C.R.(always nice to come back to icmeler at the end of a day out).
