take drinks etc as this airport is ridiculous at prices,,,,,,,,,all the eataries were empty so why dont there drop the stupid prices £11 for a big mac £4 for regular coke ..............getv real any normal person wont pay these prices so why try and rip us off

Can only agree with you there - when we flew back in June I was amazed to see one family, with four or five kids, all sitting down to meals from McDonalds - they must have needed to take out a second mortgage to afford it!

Yep, I agree. I know someone who paid £15.00 for 3 Happy Meals!!! We weren't daft. Made butties and took our own drinks, found a nice quiet spot and played cards until it was time to board!

We know someone who wrote to McDonalds to complain at their prices in Dalaman. They said unfortunately the fact is it was a franchise there and the rent was extremely expensive.

Apparently apart from somewhere in Russia, it is the most expensive McDonalds in the world!

Can you take liquid etc through to the departure lounge then? We paid £18 a person to go into the exec lounge and we got nothing for our money apart from a nice place to sit and wait for the plane. Oh now wait a minute I think there were some stale rolls on offer! Going back in October and cannot afford to pay the prices in the airport. Let me know if you can take sandwiches etc through to departures.

I can ONLY advise you to take your own to the Airport, £20 for a Pizza, £35.00 for a KFC Bucket, £12.00 for a Happy meal and £8 for a beer

The Majority of food/drink outlets were EMPTY

That's what I found with the lounge. We were delayed so paid to go in. But the food was stale chicken nuggets, with even staler cauliflower and peas (strange combination). Sandwiches were stale and so were the cakes, the cream cakes were not in a fridge or covered so were warm. Only good think is unlimited soft drinks and tea and coffee.

Hi we came home at end of august and we were delayed for three hours and was not offered any refreshment vouchers like we were at East Mids when we went out we were delayed 4 hours going out and got £6 each. When in Dalaman we were desperate for a drink so we went to macdonalds and it costs us £18 for four milkshakes what a rip off

We usually go prepared with drinks and nibbles incase of delays! Thats to any airport not just Turkey.

Forewarned is definately forearmed in Dalamans case shocking prices, especially if not prepared.

Its not just Dalaman airport that is expensive.

We are in Zante in May it was just under 25 euro for 2 teas and 2 coffees at the exchange rate we were getting this was £20.

At least in Dalaman you can take through drinks at security. In Zante you cant and have to buy drinks in their cafe.

We always now get a couple of loaves to make butties and a few drinks in plastic containers that we ask the hotel to freeze the day before we leave.
I wouldn't give a penny to those gold plated franchises in the airport

Just back last night and paid £8 for two coffees at Dalaman Airport served in paper cups. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was good coffee but it was so weak, lucky if there was five granules of coffee per cup and diluted in dishwater!! - disgusting.

We had baguettes made for us from our Apartments and we froze bottles of water to take with us. Once bitten twice shy as they say.

If you take drinks thru Dalaman make sure you keep them in your bag,saw security taking drinks off people who had them in there hands ours were in our bag and nothing was said.

Thanks Mary, it was an excellent holiday once again, only have next year to look forward to now, have June holiday booked and looking to book flights for September 2009 soon.

What you're saying is right Geovil we had our water taken from us before putting luggage through scanner, but then saw someone take a big bottle of water out of their backpack after it had been through. You live and learn all the time.

At the airport when you see tourists and often families sitting at McDonalds tucking in they are using up the last of their turkish lira rather than bring it home.
