Ticket-less flights!!

Postby NATAJACK » 06 Sep 2008 11:58

Hi,
We are due to fly to Icmeler this Thursday and have still not received any tickets   .

I rang the company that I booked through and was told they were ticket-less flights :? :? , and we just need to check in as normal only without the need of any ticket.

I’ve never heard of this before and just wondered if others have had experienced this type of flight check in, or if I should ring the company back and give them hell   !!

Hi Debbie, I've travelled with e mail flight details before now, where you have all the flight details e mailed to you but not in the form of a ticket as such, and I was asked to print them off and show at check in, I go on 19th sept and havn't had mine yet, I'll have to check up on mine too

Could be a new thing, but you're absolutely right to contact them and check before you go to the airport, otherwise you won't relax until you're sure. Hope it's all ok.

We're going with Onur on 19th, booked through ICR. Email arrived from Onur via ICR last week. Just print it off and book in as normal. Very similar to low cost airlines like Easyjet.

I would definately give them a call back, and just double check. You should at least have some form of documentation. I have travelled many times with e-mail tickets. But not experienced just turning up with no documentation.

Hi Debbie
Just a thought!!
I feel sure admin wont mind you naming the company involved in this unusual situation,
If you do so, members out here will be able to relate more fully with this "unusual situation", and possably be able to help you more
Got to say Ive never heard of a "ticketless flight" and no printout as well!!
Do hope everything is O.K for you.

Hi All,
I did ring the travel company and explained the situation again and was put through to their Sales Director.

He apologised for the fact that they had forgotten to send a confirmation invoice to me, and that the person who I spoke to earlier who told me I didn’t need any printout was wrong, and he would be spoken to about the conversation I had with him.

I have now got the email confirming the flights which I printed out.

I just wonder what would have happened if I had listened to the first div I spoke to and turned up with nothing confirming the flights   .

Thanks for all the replies they are appreciated

Hi
I didn’t put the name of the company as I didn’t think it was allowed, but its not like I’m giving good publicity or advertising.

It is miss ellies travel.co.uk based in Manchester. We booked the flights through them as we got the flights for £219 each and all the other quotes we got were all £300 or more.

I guess if you pay peanuts you get monkeys   !!

Hi

We flew out from Liverpool on the 30th July on a ticketless flight. I did print out the email confirmation, but we weren't asked for it, just our passports. I thought it was very odd, but everything worked out ok - with internet bookings etc, it must be the direction travel companies are going in.

We were the same in July from Edinburgh didnt have to show them e-mail, we were checked in no problem, but a word of warning we did have to show the e-mail in Dalaman when we were coming home so keep a hold of the e-mail just in case! :)
