Tortoises

Postby Brownie1 » 25 Aug 2008 16:55

Hi all

Noticed there were no tortoises to be seen anywhere this year but instead a lot of rabbits around. Does anyone know why? Apart from the heat!

There were tortoises at the side of the canal in front of the Venice when I was there in June.

Enjoyed your review, glad you had a good holiday.

They were at the captain Silver. We used to watch one walk around the pool side early in the morning and then dissapear into the bar area.

My husband and his friend walked up to the flag in Icmeler last week, and on the way up they saw many tortoises on the hillside. It was so nice to see them in their own surroundings rather than in cardboard boxes outside supermarkets.

Your husband and his friend were very brave walking up to the flag in that heat! I did think about doing it this year but was defeated and the pool looked more inviting
