Dream Friends

Postby jo_marie » 05 Aug 2008 22:17

Hi Guys

We spent a few nights in this bar in June and was wondering whether anyone has been there, if so is it busy now as it was dead quiet in June, but the lads made it all worthwhile. We are going back in September so will be going there again, I understand this is owned by the same guy that owns Dreamboys, never visited Dreamboys but we are going to try it out in September to see if its as good as Dream Friends. :D

I was there in june and yes I went in there, my friend fernando works there and yes its the same guy that owns dreamboys on the canal. Dream friends is next door to vinces resturant and next door to Richards place on the main road that the dolmus runs through.

We went to Dream friends a couple of times last week. Had a great time. Food was excellent. They have Michael Jackson, Tina Turner and wait for it.......... The Patrick Swayze show!!! One of the guys there does most of it he said his name was Danny Zucco (Hmmm I dont think so) When he does the Patrick Swayze thing he does the Dirty Dancing (from the film)with a girl and lifts her up above his head around the restaurant. He tried to get my 12 year old daughter to practise the dance with him as the girl who was doing it had to go home. We went for a practise the next day but he wanted her to dance a bit suggestively and she was having none of it so we didnt bother going back. All good fun though. The best bit is one of the waiters dances with a whole tray of cocktails on his head and even climbs up a pole!! I will be adding a few pics on the Gallery soon and theres some good ones of this so keep an eye out.

Re Mr jackson!!
The best Ive seen is at the Denis Kapisi the whole build up, aproach from the sea on a speedboat, his arrest etc is quite spectacular and I usualy get roped in to be one of his bodyguards, yes I do enjoy it ,but even this is a bit dated, but for the newer visiters it must be good, but heh! Erik ,, Patrick Swayze!!, that Ive got to see!

Hi Annie
On a serious note, for others still to go out there and I dont want to appear a bit of a killjoy!, but its the same with a lot of things we do on holiday, how are we for "insurance", I know the young, uns will love it, but God forbid how would it be explained on an insurance claim if a child was dropped and seriously hurt
Ive pondered a bit before I sent this reply, but thought I had to mention it from an outsiders point of view, I know people can say its none of my buisness and rightly so, but its a thought !!

Good point, but I didnt really think of that at the time. As Karen will probably tell you as she came with me to the rehersals the guy was a very good dancer, obviously very competant and he was practising with another waiter holding him up above his head who must of weighed at least double what my daughter weighed. My daughter does gymnastics and tumbling at school and is very agile anyway. The safety wasnt really my main concern to be honest, his gyrating hips concerned me more
