Holiday Tips

Postby Jemini » 08 Aug 2008 02:17

Hi Icmelerlarians. I was wondering if anyone else has any holiday tips? When i pack my suitcase, i always pop Tuble drier sheets in between my clothes or a small piece of sponge with my fave perfume on (hubbys after shave of course in his case). Everything smells lovely when you arrive at your destination. Anyone else have ideas? Happy hols. Jem xxxxx

I do very similar to you Jem. I have four of these wee cushion things (only 3" square) and I spray them with my fav perfume and place them around the case. I then use them in the drawers at the hotel, so everything smells really nice.

Tip I read years ago was to line clothes with paper hankies to avoid creases. It works and saves buying any handkerchieves in resort. Also no weight problems. :)

Get the wife to pack the suitcases. Mandy is much neater and manages to get my t-shirts and shorts in without too much trouble. I will carry the cases though !!

Roll your socks and undies up and put them in your shoes! This saves space and stops your shoes from being squashed!

If your case is nearing it's weight limit, you can always buy your toiletries (shampoo, shower gel etc.) once you've passed security. That way, it's not classed as either hand luggage or hold baggage. Of course, the main drawback is if you haven't got any time to shop at the airport in which case you'll have to buy it all when you get to Turkey. Hmmmm

when we go. we split our clothes between 3 cases for 3 people. That way if one case gets lost we all still have clothes to wear. if not with my luck it'd be my OH's bag that went missing. Not only would she smell but I'd get earache as well

Put your toiletries in sealable bags and the put them in your shoes or trainers saves space and the bottles bursting,if there is any space in a suitcase fill it out with something Toliet rolls foam we had so much room left in our cases coming home we packed one of the foam floats you can buy to fill it out, cases get broke being loosely packed as well as being overpacked.
