First time to Icmeler!!

Postby Loz and Paul » 05 Aug 2008 09:58

Hello everyone!

My boyfriend Paul, and I will be visiting Icmeler for the first time on Aug 22nd and we are very excited! We are staying at the Club Aquarium! I've been doing my research into Turkey (Icmeler) as i want to know as much as i can b4 i go so we can get the best out of the week we are there. I think this forum is a great idea as i've been able to read up on all the bars/restaurants that are very popular and i've also taken a sneak peek at some of your pics as well!!
Can anbody give me anymore info/pics on the Club Aquarium and advise us on good days out as well as car hire? Thanks!! :D

Don't know if you've already checked out the "Around Icmeler" thread, but it has a link to the Google map which will help you get your bearings and show you where everything is. It's really good - very helpful indeed, even for those of us who've been before.
Oh and yes, welcome to the forum and I'm sure you will love Icmeler as much as the rest of us on here do!

We stayed at Club Aquariums sister hotel last year. We visited the club aquarium a couple of times as they have a free bus running between the 2 hotels if you fancy a change. Club Aquarium seemed to be the quietest of the 2 hotels. Had a very laid back atmosphere, very nice grounds, apparently the apartments are the same as Grand Aquarium, so they will be to a very high standard, slightly small but OK if there's just 2 of you.

They have a cash free system, you get a wristband when you check in which is a £5 returnable deposit for it. You just top it up with money and then the balance is deducted from the credit every time you use it in the bar or restraunt, and you can use this in both hotels, regardless of where you topped it up.

If yo need any more help just PM me.

I've also added the locations of both Grand & Club Aquarium to our Icmeler Map for you.

No prob. If you think of anything else just ask or PM me.

Also the apartments are slightly to the back of the old village so it will be a 20 min walk into town. However you can catch the Dolmus round the corner and that will only cost you 1.25 lira.

The location is nice and peaceful, and you are right infront of the pine forest so you will have stunning views.

I'm not sure where those ones are to be honest. The ones I've added are either ones I've stayed at or have seen on my travels. I'm sure someone else will add them for you soon.

Hi Loz & Paul
We stayed at the Club Aquarium in 06, and had a really relaxed time, the apartments are on the small side for 4, but are excellent for 2.
There are 2 pools, 1 higher than the other linked by a slide. You can watch people swimming in the upper pool while drinking at the bar.
There was free limited air/con. As Steve said it`s about 15/20 mins out, but there are a few bars along the way.We passed the Deja Vue and the Wayside on our way into the centre. The only thing we found was the last 60yds was up an incline, but otherwise faultless. :) :) Hope this helps

Steve could you amend the Club Aquarium position on map?? Its the long block of apartments with 2 pools, at 103sk/105sk near barbaros cd, to the left of Moonlight Apartments
